Netflix is one of the leading sources of entertainment and content for all types of audience. With over 40 titles set to arrive on the streaming platform this year, we’re here to guide you through the noise and help figure out what you should focus on.
What are the most anticipated titles coming to Netflix this year?
Your Place or Mine – February 10
While Netflix’s Your Place or Mine may seem like your average rom-com at first sight, it is much more than that for fans of the genre. It marks the return of Ashton Kutcher, a heartthrob who was once considered one of the best actors in Hollywood. He stars alongside another Hollywood veteran, Reese Witherspoon.
Peter Coleman (Kutcher) and Debbie Dunn (Witherspoon) have been best friends for as long as they can remember. However, when they house-swap for a week to let Debbie attend classes in New York, important secrets unveil themselves.
Will their friendship survive these shocks? Will it turn into something more? Tune in to find out.
Murder Mystery 2 – March 31
Murder Mystery was one of the most popular comedies in 2019. Now, both of the movie’s leading actors – Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler – make a return in Murder Mystery 2 to solve yet another crime.
Struggling detectives Nick (Sandler) and Audrey (Aniston) take a break from work as they fly off to a private island for their friend’s wedding. However, when the groom – billionaire Vikram “The Maharajah” Govindan – is kidnapped, the Spitzs are forced to bring out the magnifying glass.
Extraction 2 – June 16
Another sequel on this list, Extraction 2 deals with the aftermath of Tyler Rake’s mission to rescue a drug lord’s kidnapped son from India.
After he sustains a life-threatening injury at the end of the first movie, Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake goes into a coma for 9 months. After recovering, he is tasked with yet another rescue mission. However, he can no longer run from his past and needs to confront what drives him forward.
With the Russo brothers and Sam Hargrave driving the project, Extraction 2 is set to be a high-octane action film in what seems to be the beginning of Russo brothers’ MCU-style universe. In fact, Hemsworth even took to his social media platforms to hype up fans about a one-shot 21-minute scene in the upcoming movie.
