With another weekend having rolled around, all of us have the time to put on our favorite shows/movies and forget about the rest of the world, if just for a few hours. But with such a diverse variety to choose from, which title do you go with?
If you’re anything like us and are struggling to find something to watch as you eagerly await another episode of your favorite show, here are a few shows and movies you can rely on to pass the time.
Manifest Season 4 Part 2 – Netflix
Release date: June 2
A must-watch mystery thriller, Manifest follows the passengers of Montego Air Flight 828 as they try to return to their lives after landing – five years after they took off, presumed dead since then. Passengers from the flight hear voices telling them to do things, and disturbing truths come to light as they try to discover what happened after they took off.
The first part of season 4 ended with all remaining 828-ers having been detained, because who wouldn’t be freaked out by a bunch of people screaming all at once? Cal is completely cancer free and extremely powerful, thanks to Zeke, and he now needs to defeat Angelina once again.
Manifest season 4 part 2 hit Netflix on June 2.
The Eric Andre Show Season 6 – Adult Swim
Release date: June 4
There’s nothing we can say about this show that will prepare you for it. Eric Andre is a comedic genius, and this show more than proves it.
This is a celebrity talk show by definition but a prank show by choice, and boy does it stick to that. There’s no limits for what a prank could mean. The chair you’re sitting on? Prank! It’s a human. The problematic tweets he’s calling you out for? Prank! They’re fake.
Just to give you a hint of how far Andre and his team can really go: He recently told Uproxx’s Jason Tabrys that innocent bystanders made 30+ emergency calls because of them this season, making it “the most amount of cops and firetrucks and ambulances dispatched on our behalf”.
Several daring celebrity guests have taken a seat in Andre’s (metaphorical) guest seat, and many more are set to step up to the task this season. The sixth season of The Eric Andre Show started airing on June 4, and viewers can watch past episodes on Adult Swim’s official website.
Flamin’ Hot – Hulu
Release date: June 9
Politics divides, but Flamin’ Hot Cheetos unite! Hulu’s Flamin’ Hot tells the story of Richard Montañez, who made hot cheetos into the iconic snack that it is today.
While there is debate on whether Montañez invented the cheetos, the Hulu documentary follows the then-Frito Lays janitor who used his Mexican-American heritage to bring America its favorite snack.
Hulu’s official synopsis reads:
“The inspiring story of Richard Montañez, the Frito Lay janitor who channeled his Mexican American heritage and upbringing to turn the iconic Flamin’ Hot Cheetos into a snack that disrupted the food industry and became a global pop culture phenomenon.”
The Crowded Room (Limited Series) – Apple TV+
Release date: June 9
If you follow a no-nonsense approach with your entertainment, The Crowded Room is the show for you. Set in Manhattan in the late 70s, this limited series follows Danny Sullivan after he’s arrested for a shooting. As he and an investigator attempt to navigate “blank spots” in his head to find out what really happened that day, Sullivan uncovers secrets that may change his life forever.
Inspired by Daniel Keyes’ The Minds of Billy Milligan, this Apple TV+ series stars Tom Holland, Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, and more.
