Ark 2 is still on track for its 2024 release, according to Snail Games’ CEO Jim Tsai.
As reported by IGN, Tsai spoke at the NobleCon19 business conference earlier in December about the support studio’s “next masterpiece” Ark 2 to be released in late 2024.
Originally revealed at The Game Awards 2020 with a bizarre Vin Diesel cameo, Ark 2 has been subject to multiple delays. While the game had been initially slated for a 2022 release, it was pushed to 2023. Earlier this year, Studio Wildcard announced Ark 2’s release to be postponed to 2024.
Another support studio for the game, Digital Domain, mentioned in a financial report this year that Ark 2 is supposedly headed for a 2025 launch. But Studio Wildcard discarded this information immediately, referring to it as a “typo”. As you might have guessed, the community didn’t take Wildcard’s word at face value and wondered if the game is being delayed once again.
However, Tsai’s latest statement should remove all doubts and we can rest easy with Ark 2 not being subjected to a third delay.
As for Ark 2 itself, we know barely anything except the reveal cinematic trailer and another trailer (embedded above). The sequel looks like it will build upon the original’s dinosaur survival niche and feature some crisper visual fidelity utilizing Unreal Engine 5.
Ark 2 is slated for a late 2024 release on PC and Xbox Series X|S with day one launch on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
