FromSoftware’s Armored Core franchise will make a comeback this summer with the release of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The game will be released on August 25, according to the new gameplay trailer that also reveals its storyline.
While FromSoftware is most known for its Soulsborne series, the developer has assured fans that Armored Core 6 would not be a replica of its previous releases. Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of FromSoftware, stated that the team is reexamining the key concepts of Armored key and leveraging its game development knowledge to produce a unique and entertaining gaming experience.
The trailer starts with a high-altitude drop of a modified human C4-621 and his handler “Walter” upon the barren planet of Rubicon 3. Except for vast industrial complexes, strip mines, and mechs, the planet is devoid of any indications of life.
Armored Core 6 trailer also features multiple boss encounters, including a large mechanical worm, a four-legged core armed with Gatling guns, and a six-legged mech armed with a giant laser, as expected from the franchise. The conflicts also include a hovering center with an anti-gravity mechanism and a volley of missiles, guaranteeing that players are kept busy with non-stop action.
Armored Core 6 players may expect to control quick and customizable mechs in fast-paced fights that require understanding constantly changing combat distances, utilizing the environment for cover, and employing omni-directional engagements to conquer difficult enemies and scenarios. For lovers of the mech genre, the game promises to be a thrilling and immersive experience.
Fires of Rubicon will be available on August 25 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are now open, with the Melander C3 G13 special customization “Tenderfoot” available as an added bonus. The deluxe version also includes a digital artbook and music, offering aficionados of the mech genre with a complete experience.
