Ubisoft has revealed the first official gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The trailer confirms recent leaks that stated the game will be releasing on October 12, 2023.
The new AC Mirage trailer reveals many new things, most notably including new parkour techniques, as well as several new gameplay mechanics. It’s clear that Ubisoft is taking the series back to its roots, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed series. The visuals, the parkour, the traversal mechanics, and stealth animations are reflective of this decision and certainly have a deeply nostalgic feel about them. It truly feels like an Assassin’s Creed game, much to the liking of fans.
In the trailer, we follow the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed, Basim, who jumps, hangs, swings, and pole vaults to sneak-kill enemies. Apart from your usual garden variety Assassin’s Creed weapons, such as smoke bombs and flying knives, some new features seem to have been added to the upcoming game.
At one point in the trailer, Basim seamlessly assassinates a string of enemies without being detected or harmed. According to Ubisoft, this is one of the new powers Basim possesses in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and it’s called Assassin’s Focus.
Another interesting addition in the gameplay seems to be the ability to pole vault to cross the street from one rooftop to another. Apart from this new ability, Ubisoft is also bringing back several fan-favorite traversal mechanics, including corner swings, various types of object-oriented vaults, pulleys for faster elevation, and slacklining, among others. AC Brotherhood vibes!
The pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed Mirage are open now. Gamers who pre-order will be able to get their hands on an exclusive new quest – The Forty Thieves. The game will be available for both PS4 and PS5 consoles.
