Baldur’s Gate 3 has surpassed over half a million user reviews on Steam. Even more astounding feat is that 96% of these reviews are extremely positive. This has resulted in BG3 receiving the coveted ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Valve’s platform.
On Monday, Feb 12, 2024, Baldur’s Gate 3 crossed 500,000 reviews on Steam. This is a major milestone for any video game and the sheer number of positive reviews is overwhelming. Roughly 96% or 480,000 reviews for BG3 on Steam are positive. This has resulted in the game garnering an overall 10/10 rating on Steam.
Even after six months since its release, the DnD-inspired CRPG has maintained its share of positive reviews. Over 95% of the recent reviews are positive. The game received many accolades last year, including The Game of the Year award at the 2023 TGA. BG3 was also the best-reviewed PC game on Metacritic in 2023, with a Metascore of 96, which it shares with immensely popular and time-tested titles like Disco Elysium, Half-Life 1 and 2, and GTA V.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6 will be released sometime this week and one can expect these positive reviews only to go up. It’s an uncommon sight for a game to retain so many positive reviews long after its release. Negative reviews for many games slowly start snowballing after a while and the aggregate keeps falling. BG3, however, has maintained its share of positive reviews on Steam, falling only 2% overall, as it held an impressive 98% positive reviews on launch.
