As the hype for Starfield’s release is ramping up, a leaked picture of a custom Starfield-themed Xbox controller has taken the internet by storm.
It’s not uncommon for Xbox to launch limited-edition controllers themed after a specific game, in fact, their last big first-party release Halo: Infinite came with a controller themed after itself. With Starfield being Xbox’s biggest release this year, it only makes sense that some themed hardware will accompany the launch of the highly anticipated space RPG.
Naturally, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt. Many have raised suspicion, rightfully so, regarding the controller’s legitimacy. It can very well be a custom design made by somebody and not an official limited edition. However, there is fair reason to believe it’s legit. While we can’t confirm the validity of the box ourselves, it certainly looks to be from somewhere in the UK or Europe, given the ‘PEGI 18’ rating slapped on the bottom left corner of the case. The analogous body for North America is ESRB.

This box being legit also adds credence to last week’s leak, where well-known leaker billbil-kun claimed that a €74.99/$79.99 Starfield controller and a €124.99 / $124.99 Starfield headset were slated to be revealed and released on the day of the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.

Xbox Games Showcase along with the Starfield Direct livestream are scheduled to air on June 11. Starfield is slated to launch on September 6, 2023.
