While there is a very good chance that a sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima is under development, rumors have it that Ghost of Tsushima 2 won’t make an appearance in the Sony PlayStation Showcase next week.
According to Jeff Grubb, Sucker Punch Productions will not be announcing Ghost of Tsushima 2 during the PS Showcase on May 24. Grub added that another predicted title, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, may also be absent in the upcoming event. The prediction came during the latest episode of Jeff’s podcast, Game Mess Decides, while talking about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Grubb states that this is not a mere prediction but a tip he received from an inside source. What’s interesting is that this tip came to Jeff during the livestream of his podcast. During the stream, co-host Mike Minotti suggested the possibility of Sucker Punch announcing the release window of Ghost of Tsushima 2, which Jeff initially agreed upon. However, when discussing the showcase later in the same episode, he claimed,
“I might have sniffed out two things that won’t be there … It doesn’t sound like Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be there.”
This actually makes sense, as just a few hours ago, a leakster had revealed a detailed list of upcoming titles that would be revealed during the upcoming showcase, and Ghost of Tsushima 2 is nowhere to be seen on the list. A vg fan’s comprehensive list, as well as Jeff Grub’s prediction, who has an impeccable track record of accuracy in his information, maybe strong evidence about the title’s omission from the upcoming showcase.
However, according to A vg fan, Sucker Punch is expected to unveil a new title in the upcoming showcase, titled Ghost of Kamakura, which may as well be Ghost of Tsushima 2. Whose prediction is right and is Ghost of Kamakura indeed the Ghost of Tsushima 2, only time will tell. Don’t forget to tune into the PS Showcase 2023 on May 24.
