Granblue Fantasy Relink has finally gone gold, meaning it is release-ready, according to the game’s director, Yasuyaki Kaji. The news came from a Twitter user, Genki, who focuses on insights into the Japanese gaming industry.
As we can see from the tweet, the game has gone gold. Going gold is an extremely significant step in any third-party game’s development trajectory. It essentially means that the game has completed all the necessary development steps, and the ‘gold’ version, which is the final releasable version, is ready.
It means that the first party, the company on whose platform the game is set to release (in this case, Sony), has signed off on the final version, deeming it complete and ready to ship.
The insider, Genki, has also posted a link to a Japanese article that focused on various Japanese game creators and their vision for 2024. In the article, the director of Granblue Fantasy Relink, Yasuyaki Kaji expressed his happiness about the game’s release date nearing.
Thanking Granblue fans, Kaji said,
“Thanks to you , I was finally able to complete Granblue Fantasy Relink, which I have been developing for a long time ! We are filled with the desire to have as many users as possible play the game. And we are also starting something new. I am looking forward to releasing my first title in a while and enjoying the launch of a new title to the fullest!!”
Granblue Fantasy Relink will be released on February 1, 2024, for PS5, PS4, and Microsoft Windows. The demo for the game will be released in January 2024, although the exact date for the demo release is yet to be announced by the developer.
