Steven Ogg, the actor who played Trevor Philips in GTA 5, has spilled some beans about the canceled GTA 5 story DLC.
As first reported by The Loadout, Steven was recently part of a live Q&A along with his GTA 5 co-actors Shawn Fonteno aka Franklin and Ned Luke aka Michael. During the session, Luke revealed,
“Originally they were gonna do continuing stories of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor.”
To this Ogg added,
“Trevor was gonna be undercover – he works for the feds. And we did shoot some of that stuff with ‘James Bond Trevor’ – he’s still kind of a fuck up, but he’s doing his best to pretend to be like [a secret agent]. We shot some stuff and then it just disappeared and [Rockstar] never did it, they never followed up on it.”
Conversation around the Agent Trevor DLC began last year when the intel was datamined from GTA 5’s source code. As attested by Luke and Ogg, Rockstar was working on story DLCs for all three GTA 5 protagonists.
The expansion was announced in 2013 and was reportedly shelved sometime between then and 2017. GTA Online was picking up steam, and its success is what, in all probability, prompted Rockstar to cancel the DLCs and focus on the multiplayer.
