Honkai: Star Rail is finally making its way to the PlayStation 5 platform. Developer HoYoverse confirmed the release window of the PS5 port to be Q4 2023, from the stage of Summer Game Fest.
The event showcased Honkai: Star Rail’s brand-new trailer, providing a glimpse into gameplay and new characters. Among the featured characters were Yukong and Luka, with the spotlight primarily on Silver Wolf.
After facing some delays, the arrival of Honkai: Star Rail on PlayStation 5 comes as a pleasant surprise. Previous leaks had suggested that the game would release on the platform alongside version 1.1, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. The Q4 2023 release window has put an end to speculations about a version 1.2 release for the PS5 port. It can be inferred that the game will launch for the PS5 sometime before December 2023.
While there is no official confirmation about a PlayStation 4 port of the game at the time of writing, the chances of it materializing may be unlikely, considering the current state of Genshin Impact’s PS4 port.
Will Honkai: Star Rail require PlayStation Plus subscription on PS5?
Fortunately, it seems highly likely that the game will not necessitate a PS Plus subscription on PS5, similar to its sibling title, Genshin Impact. Since the game primarily offers a single-player experience, locking it behind a subscription model would deter the majority of potential players.
