Hellblade 2 is supposedly slated for launch later this year, according to Jez Corden, who has proven to be a reliable source of Xbox insider info.
In a recent YouTube video, Rand Al Thor, the creator of The Xbox Two Podcast series, stated that his friend, Corden thinks that Hellblade 2 will release this year. While Rand displays skepticism about this, the long history of Corden correctly speculating release windows for various AAA games has created excitement amongst the gaming community.
The gaming community is divided about the release prediction as well. With Starfield coming out in September and Forza Motorsport in October, Xbox will be left with a small window this year to fit in another big release such as Hellblade 2. Many gamers suspect that we won’t be able to get our hands on Hellblade 2 any time before mid-2024.
Some gamers have reported seeing Hellblade 2 featured in the Xbox game pass advertisements, which may indicate to the title coming to game pass soon, possibly during this year. Xbox previously had promised to release at least one AAA game per quarter. With already two major games slated for release in the last quarter of 2023, it definitely seems plausible that Hellblade 2 might be pushed to Q1 or Q2 of 2024.
As both Rand Al Thor and Jez Corden stated many times, it is merely a prediction and not a leak. Hellblade 2 is already supposed to make an appearance at the upcoming Xbox showcase. We might get to see another trailer there or possibly even get a release date for the game.
Hellblade 2 is going to be the first Xbox Series X game created using Unreal Engine 5. A short gameplay teaser was released by the developer in 2021 and the game is supposed to make day one appearance on Xbox game pass as well as Xbox cloud gaming.
