Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have shared an 18-minute pre-alpha gameplay video for Little Nightmares 3. This video features a co-op playthrough of ‘The Necropolis’ level with two players, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming game in action.
The video description says,
Join Low and Alone as they attempt to face the many hidden hazards of the Necropolis. They’ll need to creep carefully, though… No one gets to toddle through Monster Baby’s playground without a little game of hide and seek.
The gameplay begins with the two main characters, Low and Alone, emerging from a mirror. We see them encountering a variety of puzzles that require teamwork, which is typical for a co-op game. They also face some gigantic and intimidating monsters, and they have the ability to defeat certain enemies that block their path.
The game’s soundtrack maintains a spooky and enigmatic atmosphere throughout the level. Towards the end of the video, we see the characters being discovered and trapped on a bed in a dark and ominous setting.
What We Know About Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmares 3 introduces two main characters, Low and Alone, who find themselves trapped in a nightmarish realm known as the Spiral. Together, they must confront various dangers and illusions as they strive to break free from this eerie and perilous environment.
In a series first, players will have the option to enjoy the game either in online co-op mode, where each player controls one of the characters, or in single-player mode with an AI companion, similar to the previous game. The key to success in both modes is the cooperation between the two characters as they work together to solve puzzles.
Each character brings a unique set of skills to the table for problem-solving. Low wields a bow and arrows, which are handy for hitting distant targets, while Alone carries a wrench that can be used to break down barriers or operate machinery. Additionally, both characters are equipped with crow feather umbrellas, enabling them to traverse large gaps or reach high places.
Little Nightmares 3 is slated for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2024.
