Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be the latest conventional side-scrolling adventure title in Nintendo’s extremely popular Mario Bros. franchise. The last traditional side-scrolling game in the franchise was New Super Mario Bros. U, released in 2012 for Nintendo Wii U. The game was announced first during the Nintendo Direct in June 2023 and promises to be a classic Mario Bros. adventure – complete with classic level designs, popular characters, such as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Princess Peach, and Princess Daisy. The Super Mario Bros. Wonder will also offer a local multiplayer mode, featuring support for up to four players in local co-op mode.
The Nintendo Direct on June 21, during which the game was announced, shed a glimpse into one of the new powerups to grace the Mario Bros. franchise. The trailer shows a unique flower powerup that transforms the players into Elephants when consumed. Fans of the series are extremely excited about the Super Mario Bros. Wonder and hoping to gain more insight about this exciting new powerup during the upcoming Direct event.
I hope we learn more about elephant Mario 🤞
