Starbreeze Studios revealed an extended gameplay footage trailer for Payday 3 at the Xbox Showcase. The announcement stated that the title will launch on September 21, 2023, and will be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers as a day-one offering.
The Payday 3 trailer begins with the leader of the payday gang urging his team for a ‘simple in-and-out job’, which obviously turns into a bloody massacre. What begins as your average run-of-the-mill bank robbery soon turns into a heavy-hitting job with at least hundreds of law enforcement units.
The trailer gives us a look at numerous weapons in Payday 3, including assault rifles, shock emitters, different types of bombs, and even a self-firing, automated machine gun that looks akin to a miniature Star Wars AT-AT. The combat looks dramatically different than the first two games in the series, with more focus on all-out violent gun-slinging rather than the stealth-action co-op mission narrative the prequels were based on.
Payday 3 will be released on September 21 at $39.99 and will also be available on Game Pass. Pre-orders for three all editions have been opened. The Silver Edition will be priced at $69.99 and will include a six-month Season Pass, while the Gold Edition is priced at $89.99 and offers a one-year Season Pass.
