Sony revealed almost 30 games in the recent PlayStation Showcase alongside two new accessories for PS5 that are supposed to launch this year: Bluetooth earbuds and an all-new PlayStation handheld device. According to popular journalist Tom Henderson, this new PlayStation handheld remote play device is supposed to hit the markets in November 2023.
Currently scheduled to release mid-late November 2023.

Tom’s predictions about the release of the handheld PlayStation seem accurate, considering that Black Friday sales would be the optimal time to launch this new device. It would also make sense if this device made its public appearance alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, for which Sony hasn’t announced an official release date as of yet. Tom had also speculated about a possible PS5 Pro, however, with the announcement of this new PlayStation handheld console, we can assume that PS5 Pro is not on the cards this year.
Originally tagged as Project Q, the new PS handheld features an 8-inch Full HD display as well as a DualSense controller. The device is expected to function on cloud gaming, and Sony has already declared that the new device, unlike the PS Vita or PSP, won’t be able to play the games natively.

Tom had previously leaked the possibility of a new PlayStation handheld device back in April, stating that he thinks it will feature a 1080p screen with 60 FPS support. As for his prediction about the device, he was spot on. Sony hasn’t shared any more details regarding the performance or resolution/frame rate support for this device. The tech giant has given us just a first look at this device at the PlayStation Showcase, which also unveiled several amazing games slated for release in the next two years.
The PlayStation earbuds might also come to markets in November 2023, however, it’s unclear whether those will make the expected impact. The Pulse 3D headphones are still going strong, but promises of lossless audio, mono-play, and the ability to connect to mobile phones along with PS5 may make the earbuds a good purchase, depending on the set price.
