Images of the PlayStation 5 Slim have recently surfaced online, and along with them, new details have emerged regarding how the optional disc drive will function when paired with the console.
The CharlieIntel Twitter account unveiled pictures of the PS5 Slim bundled with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and viewers spotted a disclaimer that says, “Internet connection required to pair disc drive and PS5 console upon setup.”
New PS5 Slim’s Storage Improvements
The PS5 Slim includes a 1TB storage capacity for both the physical and digital editions, an upgrade from the 825GB in the original versions. Notably, the new model offers the option to later add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive to the PS5 Digital Edition.
If you initially purchase the PS5 Digital Edition, you can separately acquire the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 at a price of $79.99.
It’s important to note that once the existing inventory of the current PS5 model is exhausted, the new PS5 design (PS5 Slim as everyone calls it) will be the only model available.
The PS5 Digital Edition has experienced a price hike with the introduction of the slimmer model. The initial PS5 Digital Edition was priced at $399.99, but the newer slim PS5 Digital Edition now comes with a $449.99 price tag. In essence, this means that the slimmer PS5 with a disc drive costs $50 more than the slimmer PS5 Digital Edition.
The new PS5 model comes with an included horizontal stand. If you prefer a vertical setup, you can purchase a separate vertical stand that works with all PS5 models for $29.99.
A Twitter user named Zuby_Tech has shared an image revealing a new bundle for Spider-Man 2 for the PS5 Slim.
