Cronus Zen users on PlayStation 5 encountered an unexpected hurdle on January 24th, 2024, with the release of system software update Version: 24.01-08.60.00. Reports surfaced that the update caused Cronus Zen devices to disconnect from the console, effectively rendering them unusable. So you can’t cheat in Call of Duty using Cronus on the PS5 right now.
As found by Charlie Intel, Cronus acknowledged the issue on their official website, confirming that the update disrupts compatibility with PS5. However, they emphasize that the update is not mandatory, and skipping it allows Cronus Zen to function normally. They advise disconnecting the PS5 from the internet to prevent automatic update installation in rest mode.
We never recommend holding off on updates to your hardware, especially not because you want to use cheat software. You can’t play online without updating your console anyway, so all users who use Cronos Zen are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Cronus is currently investigating the cause of the incompatibility and working on a solution. However, they admit there is no estimated timeframe for a fix, stating it could take anywhere from hours to months. They assure users that their website and social media channels will be updated with any progress reports.
Sony has not yet issued an official statement regarding the compatibility issue with Cronus Zen. There’s no telling whether this was purposeful or an accident, but it’s hard to imagine that Sony would be working with Cronus to make sure their software works when it goes against the Terms of Service for many games.
Remember that anytime you skip an update, you miss out on potential bug fixes, security improvements, and new features included in the update. We don’t think it’s worth it, but if you really need the help that badly, you’re going to have to wait and see how this situation plays out.
