A new rumor suggests the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake is on the horizon. There has been some quiet update to the psychological thriller’s Steam page, which has led to the buzz.
Last year in October, Konami officially confirmed the existence of Silent Hill 2 Remake. With no new information from the developers since then, fresh evidence is rolling in through SteamDB. According to the page, the Blooper Team, developers behind the remake have made several changes throughout the month of September and especially October. This hints towards a soon-enough release of the game.
The game’s Steam page has been updated with Ukrainian and Brazilian subtitles, while the Portuguese subtitles have been removed. Additionally, new tags and Steam Achievements have been added to the page. Although all of this evidence is not so concrete when it comes to confirming a specific release date, it still is a solid indicator of the game’s imminent launch.
To further add spine to these rumors, Luke Roberts, who voices the protagonist James Sunderland, recently revealed that the game is targeting a launch window of early 2024. If there are no changes in plans since then, it is apparent that the announcement is long overdue, and we may see something from Konami very soon, possibly by the end of this month.
Is There A New Trailer For Silent Hill 2?
After the game’s teaser trailer was posted during its initial reveal in 2022, we haven’t seen any new trailers coming out. Although, the 3-minute teaser itself tells us a lot about the game.
As expected from a remake, the story seems to remain the same as the original. Many of the shots in the teaser are found in the original game itself, such as James trying to peep through the slats of a door, and Laura pushing the key out of James’ reach.
Now that it is apparent that the legendary and arguably one of the greatest psychological games is back with drastically enhanced graphics, new features and more optimization, would you be willing to try it out?
