UPDATE: Starfield was recently unveiled at Starfield Direct.
Starfield pre-orders may begin immediately following Starfield Direct, the dedicated show on the upcoming Bethesda RPG. The special event is scheduled right after the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, on June 11.
Reddit user hushpolocaps69 received an email from the British video games retailer, Green Man Gaming. The retailer offered the user an option to add the game to their wishlist and encouraged them to not miss the Starfield Direct event. This has led Bethesda fans to believe that the game will be finally going up for pre-orders.
Just received an email an hour ago from GreenMan Gaming about wish-listing Starfield. They even specified to “look out for the direct”.

This new game by Bethesda is definitely a showstopper as the developer is launching a brand-new IP after 25 whole years. It is expected to be massive in scale, feature a lot of cool new customization abilities, and mark the beginning of a new age for Bethesda and Xbox. There has been a serious drought of information about the game after the initial announcement in 2021 and the extended gameplay trailer released in late 2022.
Starfield Direct is anticipated to give the players a deep dive into the massive world of the game, along with some brand-new gameplay and behind-the-scenes footage.

Even with the showcase approaching close, some gamers can’t help but feel skeptical. Some have shared their concerns that the developer may yet again delay the launch. Postponing releases have been pretty common in the video gaming industry of late, like Nintendo delaying the launch of Tears of the Kingdom by a whole year after the game was finished just in order to make sure that final polishing touches are in place.
Starfield is slated to launch on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S and Microsoft Windows.
