As Stellar Blade marked its completion ahead of its April 26 release for PS5, Shift Up shared the milestone on X (Twitter). The single-player game title released its demo version on March 29 which has already created a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming Sci-fi game.
According to Game Director, Kim Hyung Tae, the game and demo version reached completion on the same day. Despite the completion, Shift Up will release a day-one patch including some updates. This will help identifying and fixing bug issues much earlier.
The game director fixated on the need of more single player action-adventure games with a reachable ending.
The game director further revealed that no initial microtransactions are being planned upon release. However, this may change if costume collaborations are made with another company.
“We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package. The only exception is if we create collaboration costumes with another company’s IP, those may be sold for a fee. Also, there is no New Game+ in the launch version, so please look forward to it being updated very soon.”

In another recent interview with Playstation, Kim Hyung Tae revealed his underlying inspiration behind conceptualizing Stellar Blade.
The theme I dedicated to Stellar Blade is humanity. The story is about what makes us human and defines us as human–it’s quite universal. The story came to my mind one day as I witnessed taxi drivers on strike.
The upcoming game will unfold the scenario of a desolated earth while reimagining an 80s and 90s Sci Fi theme. The game will feature three modes – Performance Mode, Balanced Mode and Resolution Mode. Technical Director, Lee Dong Gi has recommended the resolution mode that can perform a 30 fps frame rate for 4k resolution.
