Sony has just announced its next PlayStation showcase, which will be broadcasted live on May 24 at 1 PM Pacific time or 9 PM British time. In this hour-long live stream, Sony will offer gamers a glimpse into the titles it is developing for PS5 as well as PSVR 2. The live stream will be accessible through YouTube as well as Twitch.
Sony promises to reveal some new material from both PlayStation Studios as well as several indie and reputed third-party developers. Gamers can expect more information about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the only title officially disclosed by Sony for release in 2023. Sony is also expected to share some news and showcase some footage for the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer game.
What else will Sony unveil at the PlayStation Showcase 2023?
Twitter is bubbling with several leaks and rumors regarding the announcements one can expect at the PlayStation showcase. There has been speculation that the upcoming Metal Gear remake might be announced at the event. Some other titles that are expected to make an appearance include Twisted Metal, Gears of War, and Mortal Kombat 1.
With Ed Boon’s recent tweet about something exciting happening this week, one can’t help but wonder if Mortal Kombat 1 is finally ready for its first trailer. If it is, it would make sense for NetherRealm to reveal the title’s first look during the PlayStation showcase.
Some insiders also expect that in the upcoming PlayStation showcase, Sony will finally announce PlayStation Cloud Gaming, rumored to be bundled with PS Plus Premium/Deluxe. With Xbox cloud gaming miles ahead and Backbone One system finally in market, this can prove to be an excellent time for Sony to officially launch their cloud gaming service to combat its rival.
Other speculations as to what the PlayStation Showcase 2023 might include are the announcement for PC version of the Ghost of Tsushima, a detailed overview of Supernatural Studios’ new title, and extended gameplay footage of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
