Throne And Liberty’s Talandre Expansion is out and along with new quests and Guardians, the developers have also added new Dungeons. The first of these is Rancorwood, a challenging 3-Star Co-op Dungeon that has one of the toughest bosses: King Khanzaisin. Here’s a guide to all of his moves and a strategy to help you take him down with ease.
How To Defeat Rancorwood Boss: King Khanzaizin

Once you reach the Rancorwood Dungeon, the first challenge you’ll have to face is King Khanzaizin. Unlike other bosses in Throne and Liberty, Khanzazin tends to have more powerful and smart attacks that can bring down any group in minutes. The team composition is critical in defeating this boss, here’s what worked for us.
Team Composition For Rancorwood Boss Fight
For the fight with King Khanzaizin, this is the recommended team and their roles:
- DPS: Dagger, Crossbow
- Tanks: Sword and Shield, Greatsword
- Healers: Staff, Wand
The Tank of the team will have the job of taking all aggro from Khanzaizin, giving their teammates a chance to go for direct attacks. Weapons like the Greatsword, Sword and Shield can offer enough protection and strength to be the Tank and take damage for the team. Keep in mind that if Khanzaizin is about to deal a high-power attack at the tank, it’s better if everyone groups up near them and the damage is divided between everyone.

The DPS players with the Dagger or Crossbow should go for those direct attacks whenever King Khanzaizin is distracted by the Tank. These weapons can offer some of the best damage output in the game, which is perfect and also required for the Rancorwood Boss. Another responsibility the DPS players is to put out the fire after each of Khanzaizin’s Fire attacks.
The Healer is essential when battling King Khanzaizin. Using their Wands or Staffs, the healer will keep everyone alive by using their powers whenever needed. The healer must also always keep their eye on the Tank and heal them immediately after they take damage.
Strategy For King Khanzaizin’s Attacks
Here’s a list of his common moves:
- Wrath/Fury Attacks
- Meteor Attacks
- Fire Attacks
Wrath/Fury Attacks
Khanzaizin’s pattern will always be the same in each fight. His Fury Attacks will always be preceded by three Wrath attacks.

The First Wrath Attack will be on the inner circle around him. It can be avoided by Dodge rolling to the safe zone, which is the outer circle.

The Second Wrath Attack will be on the furthest ring near the edge of the platform. During this attack, you and your team can move into the safer zones.

The Third Wrath attack will be on the inner and outer circles. During this attack, the middle region of the platform will be safe. The Fury attack can be avoided by either dodge rolling or by blocking it directly.
Meteor Attacks
This attack involves King Khanzaizin calling down meteors from the sky that cause great damage to players underneath them. As deadly as this Rancorwood Boss attack might be, it can be avoided by looking for red circles on the platform, since that’s where the meteors will drop. Just run away from these red circles near Khanzaizin and you should be fine.

If Khanzaizin happens to use these Meteor Attacks directly at a particular player, it will be hard to dodge them. You can help reduce the damage on one single player by grouping up.
Fire Attacks

King Khanzaizin has plenty of Fire themed attacks. The first one is the Fire Beam attack, where he will launch out beams on any player who has his aggro. This attack is best taken by the Tank, while the others will focus on dealing direct damage to Khanzaizin from the other side.
Another attack is through Fireballs that will be launched at any players near him. You can’t really avoid this attack, so try to heal quickly after it.
The Fire Platform attack can completely destroy a team very quickly. It involves King Khanzaizin lighting a particular area on the platform on fire. It is usually in the shape of a cone (or a pizza slice) and can rapidly spread to the cones near it. If any player happens to be near the burning cone or the ones near it, they can start burning.
When Khanzaizin attacks the team this way, it is best to just jump off of the platform onto the geysers below. You can also jump down here whenever you are low on health and need to heal quickly. Go to the Geysers and then jump back up whenever you’re ready. Once you’re back up, you will have an effect on you that can help you extinguish all of the flames on the platform.
The original burning cone-shaped platform will also fall off, so try to stay away from it.
The key is that this boss tends to repeat his attack and follows a predictable pattern. Once you get a handle on his moves, you’ll be able to predict what moves coming next, making the whole fight much more manageable.
