The Fury is the fifth boss you will face in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. He uses a flamethrower and jetpack to attack you in a dark underground tunnel with six corridors. His fire attacks are very dangerous and require careful planning to avoid.
You need to keep your distance to win this fight. You can defeat him with either non-lethal or lethal methods, and each approach gives different rewards.
Metal Gear Solid Delta – How to Defeat The Fury

The Fury boss fight takes place in a dark underground tunnel with six different corridors. This boss uses a flamethrower and a jetpack to fly around the area and attack you with fire. To win this fight, you have to keep your distance and use the tunnel layout to your advantage.
Before starting the fight, make sure you wear Black Camouflage and Black Face Paint. This helps you stay hidden in the dark tunnel. The Fury will show an exclamation mark over his head when he spots you.
The best strategy is to fight from long range using a sniper rifle. Position yourself at one end of a corridor and shoot The Fury when he slowly walks down any of the six hallways. You can get several shots off before he notices you and charges toward your position. When he starts flying toward you with his flamethrower, immediately run to a different corridor at the opposite end of the tunnel.
For non-lethal takedowns, aim for his arms and legs rather than his orange helmet, which protects him from damage. You need to shoot him three times in a row to make him fall down temporarily. When he falls, his health bar will go dull, meaning he cannot take damage for a short time. This is your signal to retreat to another corridor and wait for him to get back up.
If you choose the lethal approach, start by sneaking up close and slashing his suit with your knife. This tears his protective suit and makes him take more damage from other weapons. After damaging his suit, use heavy weapons like the RPG-7 to deal significant damage.
Fire safety is important in this fight. If you catch fire, quickly equip and unequip your cardboard box to put out the flames. You can also roll repeatedly to extinguish yourself. Shooting water pipes can help too, but this might alert The Fury to your location.
Keep repeating your chosen strategy until The Fury is defeated. All you need to do is stay patient, maintain your distance, and use the tunnel corridors to stay safe from his devastating flamethrower attacks.
Best Weapons and Equipment to Beat The Fury

The Mosin Nagant is by far the best weapon for fighting The Fury. This tranquilizer sniper rifle is perfect for non-lethal takedowns and has excellent range for staying safe from his flames. The weapon deals solid stamina damage and can take down The Fury quickly when used correctly.
To get the most out of the Mosin Nagant, learn the quick swap technique. First, hold the aim button and press the scope button to zoom in. Shoot The Fury, then quickly double tap the right direction pad to unequip and re-equip the weapon. This skips the slow bolt cycling animation and lets you fire much faster. The control options in Metal Gear Solid Delta can affect how smoothly you perform this technique. Repeat this process two more times to chain three shots together. With this technique, you can defeat The Fury in just four salvos.
If you do not have the Mosin Nagant, the Mk22 tranquilizer pistol can work as a backup option. However, it deals less stamina damage and has a shorter range than the Mosin Nagant.
For lethal runs, your best combination is the Survival Knife and RPG-7. Start by sneaking up close and slashing The Fury multiple times with your knife. This tears his protective suit and makes him take much more damage. Once his suit is damaged, switch to the RPG-7 and fire rockets at him.
Your camouflage setup is just as important as your weapons. Always wear Black Camouflage and Black Face Paint before starting the fight. This combination helps you blend into the dark tunnel environment. The gameplay changes in the remake make stealth mechanics more intuitive than the original.
Keep a Cardboard Box ready for emergencies. If you catch fire, quickly equip and unequip the box to put out the flames. If you’re experiencing frame rate drops during the intense moments of this boss fight, unlocking higher FPS can make the timing easier.
Rewards and Collectibles

Defeating The Fury gives you different rewards depending on how you beat him. If you defeat him without killing him, you will receive the Fire Camouflage as a reward. This special uniform is very useful because it reduces fire and explosion damage by half. The Fire Camouflage is perfect for future playthroughs when you face The Fury again, making his flamethrower attacks much less dangerous.
There are also two important collectibles hidden in The Fury’s arena that you can only get during this boss fight. Both items are easy to miss, so make sure to grab them before focusing on the actual battle.
The first collectible is Kerotan Frog 41. You can find this right after going down the stairs into the underground tunnel. As soon as the area opens up into the boss arena, look straight ahead at the pipes above the fighting area. The Kerotan frog sits on one of these pipes and is visible from the entrance.
The second collectible is GA-KO Duck 41. This one is only available during The Fury boss fight itself. As soon as the battle begins, run to the westernmost corridor of the arena. Look for an opening along the western wall where you can see inside. The GA-KO duck sits on top of a pipe in this hidden area, but it is camouflaged and harder to spot than the frog.
Both collectibles count toward your overall completion percentage, so do not forget to collect them. The GA-KO duck is especially important to grab early since you need to get it while the boss fight is active. Once you start focusing on fighting The Fury in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it becomes much harder to safely search for collectibles.
