Arkane Austin, the studio behind Redfall, has closed due to the immediate end of further game development. Arkane Lyon, the company’s French branch, will remain open and is working on an unannounced project. Microsoft has put an end to the game and the studio behind it.
The announcement will likely disappoint Redfall fans who were looking forward to improvement on the game. According to Arkane Studios, the game’s servers will still be available for players who want to keep enjoying the current version. Arkane is offering a full credit for players who bought either the Hero Pass as part of Redfall’s premium Bite Back Edition or the Bite Back upgrade as a separate add-on, as a sign of goodwill. This credit will be equal to the value of these premium content purchases.
Players who want to stay informed about the credit process can get more details on the official signup page. Arkane has not yet provided the exact process for how players can get this credit. On the redemption page, the studio states: “We are working to finalize details for the Redfall credit program. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.” The instructions involve logging in to the site and choosing the “Subscribe to Article” option at the bottom of the page. Notifications will be sent when new information about the credit process is available.
This is just one of many Bethesda studios that have been closed recently. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Arkane’s decision to provide credit will make things easier for those who were investing in the game’s future.
