Naoe is one of the two protagonists that players are able to play as in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. If you are like me and prefer the quieter, more traditional assassin style of gameplay, Naoe is for you. The best way to enhance her gameplay, though, is by ensuring you have the best Mastery abilities unlocked for Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Best Mastery Abilities for Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The best Mastery abilities in total for Naoe, including which path it is apart of, that I recommend for all players in Assassin’s Creed Shadows are the following:
- Eagle Vision Improved Sense: Assassin Mastery Path Rank 3
- Double Assassinate: Assassin Rank 2
- Vigor 1/2/3: Assassin Ranks 3, 4, and 6
- Igan Roll and Ninja Fall: Shinobi Ranks 2 and 4
- Grab and Grab Assassinate: Ranks 1 and 2
- Tidal Wave: Katana Rank 1
- Dodge Attack: Katana Rank 1
All Mastery Path Skill Trees, Explained

There are six base Mastery Path skill trees you are able to unlock for Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows:
- Katana
- Kusarigama
- Tanto
- Tools
- Shinobi
- Assassin
Those six Mastery Paths are essentially the skill trees you find in other games. Some of them, such as the Tanto, mainly focuses on that particular weapon (which is one of the best weapons to use for Naoe). That said, there are some shared traits you are able to take from one path that will benefit you no matter what weapon you are using.
How to Get Mastery Points

How you go about getting the best abilities for Naoe in the first place in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is by ensuring you have Mastery Points. These are basically like the skill points in other similar games. You get at least one every single time you level up. In addition, you can get some through main story quests you do.
The most rewarding way to get Mastery Points, though, is by completing the side quest content in the world that is marked red. These include the temples, various paths, Kata spots, and more. Completion of these, such as finding all of the lost pages at a particular temple, will reward you with a new Mastery Point and some Knowledge as well. Knowledge Points are necessary to expand your skill tree and get the higher-ranking abilities.
