Vernworth plays host to many of the most interesting side quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Many of them build on one another to form interesting backstory that runs parallel to the main plot. You can really get to know the world better if you dig into all the dark little corners. House of the Blue Sunbright, a quest available starting early in the game, shines a light in some of those corners.
How to Complete House of the Blue Sunbright in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can activate House of the Blue Sunbright only after you clear The Gift of Giving. That mission introduces a character named Daphne, a young street urchin who plays a prominent role in the newer side quest. To complete House of Blue Sunbright, you must help Daphne stand in for a rich young lad, and outfit him for a trip to Melve.
Your quest begins when the maid who works at Townsend’s Estate approaches you. She wants you to visit the estate and speak with her master, a young lad named Sebastian. His mother is ill and he can’t leave the house to tend to other matters unless he has someone to take his place. Accept his request for assistance.

If you have the quest active as your current project, a quest marker appears to let you know where you can find a person to stand in for Sebastian. That person is Daphne, who frequently stands around outside The Gracious Hand. It’s the church in the slums. Head there now and talk to Daphne, who agrees to come along with you.
Back at Townsend’s Estate, Sebastian approves of your work so far. He leads you into a side room, just through a door from the entryway. There, you must help Sebastian prepare for his journey. You do this by talking to the three available characters in the area. Their conversations help you piece together a few clues as to what you should bring along. You need three items: Detoxyfying Decoction, Waking Power, and a Misshapen Eye.
Buy the two potions from Philbert’s Sundries, if you don’t have them already. The Misshapen Eye comes from a slain cyclops. By the time I completed this quest, I had wandered the land and had around 15 in my inventory. You get one pretty much any time you kill one of the foul beasts. Cyclops monsters appear along roadways and like to interrupt Oxcart rides.
When you hand over the items he needs, Sebastian sets out on his journey. Pass the time by sitting on a bench somewhere near the estate, or by sleeping at your house or an inn. Then return to the estate. Sebastian should be back. You will receive your rewards for completing the quest: 900 XP, 3000 G, and Fine Harspud Roborant x2. That’s a decent bounty for a bit of busywork.
