In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you meet a variety of interesting characters. Sometimes, you can walk right by them without realizing they have a quest to offer. And sometimes, those early quests lead to bigger ones. Such is the case when Glyndwr introduces a side quest called Gift of the Bow.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 – How to Complete Gift of the Bow
You will find Glyndwr standing around near the weapon shop in Vernworth. He eyes the shop counter. It’s clear he has something on his mind. However, not being the talkative sort, I walked by him many times during my own adventure. Later, I finally got around to speaking to him. That’s when I realized there was more to his story. You can help him through a couple of interesting quests. The first one is pretty easy. To complete the Gift of the Bow, you must buy Glyndwr a bow and help him practice with it.
Glyndwr appears starting very early in the game. Before you bother with his quest, activate the Archer vocation. You should level up your proficiency a few times, as well. Then, talk to Glyndwr in front of Roderick’s Smithy along the north end of the Merchant Quarter.

When you talk to the elf, you’ll have an option to deliver a bow. It needs to be “human-made.” Fortunately, you’re right near the smithy. You can buy any of the available bows. However, the Hunter’s Bow is your best bet, since it is relatively affordable at 4240 G. Buy it and hand it to Glyndwr.
Glyndwr leaves town at that point. Make sure to set The Gift of the Bow as your active quest. Then head out into the field. You can check your map to find the destination indicated. It is a short distance southeast from Sacred Arbor. You’ll get there on foot, since none of the other options get you especially close.
Travel northwest from Vernworth, keeping to the main roads as possible, until you arrive at your destination. It’s not terribly far west of Rainshelter Cave. There, you find the Mountain Ruins (see the map above). Glyndwr is waiting for you.
Talk to Glyndwr and he’ll set some targets. Turn until you see the weights hanging from arches that form the base of a nearby bridge. Press and hold the button indicated on-screen to prepare a Steady Shot. It lets you aim precisely. Fire and hit one of the target bags.
Inspired, Glyndwyr makes his own attempts. He soon finds he’s a natural, and the quest completes. You receive 1600 XP, 8500 G, and the Ring of Proximity as your reward.
