Dying Light 2 incorporates the classic mechanic of performing a finisher on one’s enemies. Executing a finisher provides a satisfying and gory end to the enemy pestering you in the game.
Developers Techland added this ability approximately three months ago in Community Update #3. However, the community is still confused about how one can trigger these Dying Light 2 finishers.
How To Perform Finishers In Dying Light 2
The quickest way to execute finishers in Dying Light 2 is to target the Stance Meter. It is the White bar below the enemies’ Red HP bar. Completely emptying the Stance Meter can bring up a button prompting the execution of a finisher with the corresponding weapon you are holding.
Common melee weapons like swords can do more damage to the HP bar and drain the enemy’s Stance bar less, thus killing them before you get a chance to perform the finisher. Therefore, knowing the correct weapons and how the Stance Meter works is essential to executing finishers.
Note: Each finisher is unique to the weapon the players use.

The Stance Meter And The Correct Weapon To Use To Drain It
There are two important things to keep in mind when you want to do finishers in Dying Light 2. The first is the Stance Meter and the second is the weapons that can drain that meter.
Think of the Stance Meter as a stamina bar; once you deplete it, you can perform the finisher on the enemies. However, as players progress it is difficult to do so since it gets easier to defeat them and not stun them. This is because every weapon players obtain is strong enough to defeat enemies in a couple of hits.
The most effective Stance Meter draining weapons are any Knuckledusters and the Grappling Hook. They do less damage and stagger the enemies, allowing you to easily perform finishers on enemies without completely draining their HP bar.
