Drying Rack is one of the most important tools in Sons of the Forest. It helps you cure and dry your meat to extend its shelf-life. However, many players have reported that their drying racks are not working. This problem can be irritating but fortunately has a simple solution.
Sons Of The Forest Drying Rack Not Working Fix
The best way to fix the Drying Rack not working problem in Sons of the Forest is by placing a fire directly underneath it. Some players have also reported that sleeping next to their drying rack or at least being around it for an extended period helped in fixing this problem.
Here are all the ways you can try to fix this issue:
- Light a fire underneath: Most players agree that placing a fire under your drying rack is the best way to fix this problem. It speeds up the drying process and you can get your meat dried overnight. Attempting to dry the meat without fire will take more time and increase the chances of your meat rotting.
- Reposition it: A drying rack in Sons of the Forest must be placed in a well-ventilated and dry area. In an area with rain or excess moisture, your meat drying activity is doomed to fail. Ensure that you are placing your rack in an airy, open area. If placing inside a cabin, ensure that it has enough windows and openings to let the air in.
- Hang less meat: Some players have reported that hanging more than six or seven pieces of meat might slow down or completely stop the process of drying. Try hanging fewer pieces of meat on the drying rack and see if this works.
- Build a new Drying Rack: Sometimes, a drying rack might be glitchy and it simply won’t work. This might be an issue with the game. You can try building a new one (after all, it only costs 13 sticks).
- Restart the game: If building a new one isn’t solving your problem, try restarting the game. Most players have reported that this last resort has worked for them. If it does not, you might have to reinstall the game.
