To unlock the Hero’s Sword in Remnant 2, you need to unlock the Explorer archetype by completing the game. This means defeating the final boss; Annihilation. However, you will have to start a new game as the Explorer Archetype to get the Hero’s Sword.
Another alternate way is by completing the game on Nightmare difficulty. The difference with this method is that it will unlock the weapon to purchase from Brabus at Ward 13 for any character rather than having to start a new game as Explorer. However, for most players, the method of getting into a second playthrough with Explorer is more suitable.
The Hero’s Sword is a powerful melee weapon that starts at 51 base damage with a 5% Critical Hit chance, +90% Weak Spot damage, and -10% Stagger Modifier. It also comes with the Energy Wave weapon mod that can fire an energy wave projectile at enemies when you do a power attack, effectively allowing you to do ranged attacks with a melee weapon. How to get the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2
Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to unlock the Explorer Archetype for the Hero’s Sword in Remnant 2:
- Finish the main story of the game by defeating the final boss, Annihilation. This will give you the Broken Compass item.

You will now have the Explorer Class unlocked.
