Last Epoch not only features a myriad of classes and skill trees to upgrade but it also has hundreds of items like weapons and other gear that will need upgrading. Each of these items can be further improved by adding an affix to it. However, you can also convert an existing affix into a sealed affix in Last Epoch which adds it to an item permanently and leaves its previous slot open to add an affix of your own choosing.
How To Apply A Sealed Affix In Last Epoch
To seal an affix into an item in Last Epoch, you will need to use a Glyph of Despair at the Forge when upgrading affixes. If you want to seal an Experimental affix on Experimental items, you will have to use the Rune of Research instead which is obtained as a drop from Exiled Mages.

Glyph of Despair has a chance to seal the affix currently on the item which makes it a permanent part of the item. However, this random chance varies based on the tier of the affix, the higher the tier the lower the chance. Because of this, it is next to impossible to get a tier 4 sealed affix and you should only attempt this for lower tier affixes.
Keep in mind that the Glyph of Despair is not usable on items that belong to a set or unique items. It can only be used on regular items and weapons, but it does have a higher chance of sealing an affix if it’s an Exalted item.
How To Get Glyph Of Despair
Glyphs of Despair in Last Epoch can be found by killing enemies, looting containers, or breaking items like barrels and chests. This is just like any other Glyph in the game so you will have to rely on RNG to get the Glyph of Despair to drop.
