Spurned Progeny Attacks

While speed isn’t the Spurned Progeny’s strong suit, it makes up for the deficiency by having a vast array of attacks that will have you on your toes throughout the course of the battle. The Spurned Progeny’s attacks can come from anywhere and you’ll have to constantly be on the lookout for these moves.
Move | Description | Defense |
Claw Smash | Covers a wide area with a sweep of either of the claws. | Dodge each strike by stepping to the side or back. |
Fire Wave | The Spurned Progeny punches the ground causing a wave of fire to emanate around it. | Dodge by Jumping just as the wave approached you. |
Magma Traps | The Spurned Progeny performs a dance of sorts, causing magma traps to emerge around the Lampbearer. | Dodge as the magma traps emerge. Be wary of the next trap as you jump though. |
Lava Pit | The Spurned Progeny spews out lava which covers the entire lower level of the arena. | Head to the embankment on the second level. |
Clawface | The boss’s face opens up to suddenly unleash a hidden claw that is on fire and tries to grab you. This attack involves three strikes. | Dodge either to the left or right. Stick to the far end of the platform and continue dodging till the three strikes are done. |
Clawface Fire Wave | The claw smashes the ground to generate a fire wave. | Jump and dodge just as the regular fire wave. |
Clawface Fire Ball | The Spurned Progeny unleashes the claw this time facing up with a fireball in its hand. This attack will eventually light the entire platform on fire. | Run away from the platform as it will be engulfed in flames soon. You can deal some damage before you leave, but you need to be quick. |
Infernal Flares | The Spurned Progeny gets on its knees and clasps its neck to unleash flares that engulf the entire arena | Get behind any wall. |
How To Defeat The Spurned Progeny Boss In Lords Of The Fallen

Time is of the essence in this boss fight. There are many areas of the Spurned Progeny that are exposed throughout the course of the battle, especially in the earlier stage. As the fight progresses the points of attack reduce, as does the area of battle. That is the second most crucial aspect of this boss fight: the battle arena.
Familiarize Yourself With The Boss Arena
As you enter combat with the Spurned Progeny boss, ensure that you get familiarized with the arena. This boss fight takes place in the entirety of the farthest part of Calrath. There are two levels accessible here and both levels are vital in ensuring you come out on top.
Tactics For Dealing Early Damage
As you start the fight, it is best to attack the legs which are the most exposed parts. You can land quite a few strikes with ease while ensuring that you are far away from harm’s way. Each of the Spurned Progeny boss’ attacks is somewhat telegraphed and therefore easy to read and dodge. Make use of this advantage early in the battle to deal as much damage as possible.
Retreat To The Next Level When Spurned Progeny Pukes Lava
As the battle ensues and you have done at least 25% damage, the Spurned Progeny boss spews out lava after retreating to a corner. Retreat to the next level as soon as you see the Spurned Progeny puking lava. Soon the entire lower level of the arena is filled with it and the fight is isolated to the embankments.
Tactics For Dealing With Spurned Progeny’s Changed Attack Pattern
From this point, the Spurned Progeny boss’ arsenal is confined to the Clawface attacks, the Claw strikes, and the Infernal Flares. As you occupy each platform, the claws are unleashed and the Progeny attacks in somewhat quicker succession. For players with a melee-focused build, the point of contact here is the claws, and your best option is to deal as many heavy attacks as possible as the claws are retreating. After each claw attack, the Progeny takes a while to retract the claws which provides the ideal opening.

Recommended Weapon And Spell For The Spurned Progeny Boss Fight
Arm yourself with the heaviest and most powerful weapon in your arsenal. The ideal choice of weapon for this fight though is Pieta’s Sword which has a base Holy stat of 88 which can be upgraded to 163. Ensure that you have all the upgrades on the sword as possible before taking on the Spurned Progeny Boss.
Also, arm yourself with the Holy Smite Radiance spell to strike from a distance. There are many openings to attack from a safe distance. So, it is prudent that you take every opportunity as early as possible before things start getting heated up.
Moreover, do not forget to carry the Ignite Cure elixir before the battle.

Take Cover Behind Wall-like Structures
At this point in the boss fight, the Infernal Flares attack clears the lava, opening up the lower arena again. As the attack starts, seek cover behind any wall-like structure on the embankment to avoid taking damage.
Keep The Fight In The Lower Level As Much As Possible
Use the platforms on the second level judiciously. Furthermore, do not head to the second level unless you absolutely have to, i.e., only after it is filled with lava. The Spurned Progeny boss is most vulnerable in the lower level since its legs are exposed at all times and are easy to access given the telegraphed nature of its attacks. Dodging is also much easier on the lower levels, so make the best use of your time there.
Sticking to this strategy while switching between melee and ranged attacks as the situation demands will help you beat Lords of the Fallen’s Spurned Progeny boss without too many troubles.
