Wuchang: Fallen Feathers features a great number of bosses, with some of them being extremely aggressive and posing a great challenge to players. One such boss that you’ll fight is the Fierce Tiger, found on the Zhenwu table.
This is one of the hardest bosses that you will fight in the game, especially because it’s a large monster. As such, it has huge hit boxes and no option to parry, thereby relying on perfect dodges. The Fierce Tiger also has two full phases, which makes health flask management very important.
Guide to defeat Fierce Tiger Boss in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The Fierce Tiger Boss has two phases, each with its full health pool. This means the key to defeating the boss is learning the movesets and managing your health flasks. Ideally, you would want to save about four health flasks for the second phase.
In terms of weapons, anything works as long as you know how to use it. However, the Axe, Dual Blades, or Long Sword are the best options, due to their well-rounded utility and skill trees. Bone Needle- Flame or Bone Needle- Leech are good since the boss is weak to fire, but the latter keeps you healthy.
One of the most essential spells to use in this fight is Ethereal Form, as it allows you to auto-dodge attacks from the boss. Just make sure to dodge a few initial moves and trigger this spell regardless of whether you are trying to attack or dodge.
The Dracolich Pendant and Demon Pendant come in handy in this fight. This is because the Dracolich Pendant makes you immune to screams. When the Fierce Tiger screams, it’s a great opening for you to deal damage, and the Dracolich Pendant makes sure you don’t get interrupted.
The Demon Pendant increases damage against large enemies, and this boss qualifies for that title. Finally, the Twin Infant Pendant is also a good choice since it helps with Stamina Recovery. If you’re confident managing your Stamina, you can go for the Eagle Pendant to increase stab attack damage.
In the first phase, there isn’t much to do, as you dodge the boss’s attacks and deal damage whenever you find the opening. However, in phase 2, the boss gets upgraded with a zombie soldier sitting on top of the tiger. Its name also changes to Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong.
This zombie soldier starts spamming Lightning Attacks, which can inflict you with Paralysis. As such, using armor that resists Lightning will come in very handy. Apart from that, the strategy remains the same, where you try to stay behind the boss and keep attacking it.
Try to use heavy attacks whenever you have a chance to fill up the poise meter. As soon as you stun the boss by breaking its Poise, make sure to hit the critical mark for high damage.

Fierce Tiger move list in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

You need to be ready to face the moves this boss throws at you. Below is the Fierce Tiger move list across both phases in the game.
Phase 1
There are about seven moves in phase one. Once you get the hang of them, they’re easy to counter.
Moves | Description | How to Counter |
---|---|---|
Rush | The boss will rush onto the player and deal massive damage. | Either dodge to the left or the right, depending on what you’re comfortable with. Dodging to the left feels easier, since the boss can follow up with attacks on the right. |
Lightning Balls | The Fierce Tiger goes up in the air and throws Lightning balls towards the player. | Dodge these Lightning balls since they come out very slowly, so you’ll have time to react. |
Lightning Beam | The boss will shoot a Lightning Beam at the player. | The beam is very narrow, and you can dodge it very easily. In fact, this is a great damage window. |
Lightning Discharge and Scream | The boss gets up on its feet and releases Lightning around itself. Additionally, the Fierce Tiger also screams to stun the player. | You can dodge the Lightning Discharge very easily. As for the scream, you can use the Dracolich Pendant to make yourself immune. |
Lightning Slam | The boss will slam the ground and deal Lightning damage. | Before launching the attack, the Fierce Tiger raises its hand. So you have a few seconds to run away. If you can dodge the initial slam, you’ll have a good damage window. |
Triple Slam | The Fierce Tiger raises its hand and slams the ground three times. | The slams are quite slow, so you can easily dodge them. |
Roll and Slam | The Fierce Tiger rises up in the air and slams the ground. | The only way to deal with this move is to either dodge or run away. |
Things can be simple for some after this. This is the only phase with so many moves to keep an eye out for.

Phase 2
After the first phase is over, a zombie knight comes out from the Fierce Tiger’s back, along with a spear in hand. At the end of the cinematic, the second phase begins with Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong revealing itself.
Moves | Description | How to Counter |
---|---|---|
Lightning Slam | The boss will use its spear to slam the ground in front, which leaves a massive trail of Lightning and deals heavy damage. | Side-step the slam, and you will be safe from the attack. |
Lightning Crash | Sovereign – Zhang Xianzhong will jump in the air and crash on the ground while dealing massive Lightning damage around itself. | The best way to deal with this move is to run away from the boss. |
Lightning Swing | The boss will swing its Spear and deal Lightning damage to anyone caught in its path. | It’s not worth trying to attack the boss during this move. As such, it’s better to simply get out of the way. |
Apart from this, all the moves from phase 1 are retained, which means you have to learn everything that the Fierce Tiger does to stand a chance of clearing it. When you first start fighting the boss, its aggression might catch you off guard. However, after a few tries, you’ll realize it’s quite telegraphed.
