After a one-year exclusive period on the Epic Games Store, Dead Island 2 is heading to Steam on April 22 this year.
To celebrate the upcoming release of the sequel on the Steam storefront, Dead Island Riptide Definitive Edition is free to claim for two days until February 15. Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island Retro Revenge are on deep discounts too (85% and 75% discount respectively) until February 20. So, players who would like to brush up on the original titles before jumping into the sequel can pick up these games for a pocket change.
Developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, Dead Island 2 initially launched on April 21, 2023, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store. The title sold 2 million copies within the first month of its release, exceeding internal expectations. It prompted the development of the Haus DLC which was released on November 2 last year.
Now, the Steam launch announcement does not mention whether the DLC will be releasing on the platform simultaneously with the base game, or whether it will be on another one-year exclusivity period on Epic Games Store before releasing on Steam in November this year.
