Mimes are one of the many types of optional bosses in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. These notorious bots are spread across all the regions, hidden away at their secret locations. In this guide, we will take you through the location of each mime and the way to defeat them.
How To Beat Mimes
Every mime only possesses two kinds of attack patterns:
- A four-hit combo with a hammer where he smashes it on the ground repeatedly.
- A three-hit combo where he follows right and left forward slashes with a headbutt.
This makes it easy for players to understand and adapt to fighting mimes. Learning to parry and dodge with precise timing will allow you to defeat any mime quickly. However, to make up for their lack of attacks, mimes have shields that need to be broken to damage them. Make use of attacks like Fleuret Fury and Shatter that deal high ‘break’ damage.
All Mime Locations
Lumiere

Before you go down the harbour during the prologue, look around to see children dancing and a crowd gathered around. Start going east from the stage to find the mime standing alone in the corner.
Battle Loot: Lumiere record.
Spring Meadows

During Act I: Gustave, head to the Grand Meadow Rest Point flag after you drop from the abandoned house. From here, head west until you reach the edge of the cliff, where you will see grapple points further up. Grapple across the cliffs until you reach a sole platform with the mime on it.
Battle Loot: Baguette outfit and haircut for Gustave.
Flying Waters

While completing the main story, you will eventually come across a gigantic Bourgeon in the Flying Waters region. When you do, turn right and go straight ahead until you see handholds. Use them to climb up to the Mime’s hiding place.
Battle Loot: Short haircut for Maelle.
Ancient Sanctuary

From the Sanctuary Maze expedition flag, head east and follow through under the tree branch. Crawl through another small gap nearby, then continue west until you reach the Mime past the wooden shack.
Battle Loot: Baguette outfit and haircut for Lune.
Esquie’s Nest

As you exit the narrow cave and enter the chamber filled with lanterns in Esquie’s Nest, look down below the ledge to spot the Mime standing on a small patch of rock surrounded by water.
Battle Loot: Baguette outfit and haircut for Sciel
Frozen Hearts

Reaching this mime takes some effort, as you need to reach the crater and get the Iced Heart expedition flag. Navigate through the frozen train carriages up to the Gestral merchant, then turn east to see the mime.
Battle Loot: Short haircut for Lune
Visages

Head west from the Joy Vale expedition flag until you reach the end of the meadow. From here, turn east and go through the path inside the mountains. The mime is hidden behind a tree at the edge of the cliff.
Battle Loot: Baguette Outfit and Haircut for Verso
Sirene

Before facing Tisseur, players are given the Sewing Atelier Rest Point. Take the stairs that lead to the statue, then go east to find the Mime in a dark corner.
Battle Loot: Sirene haircut for Lune.
Monolith

In the Tainted Cliffs area in Monolith, you will eventually come across a crossroads with the story-driven path being on the right, and a zipline leading down to the mime on the left. It’s quite a way down, and this time the mime also has sentries with them.
Battle Loot: Voluminous haircut for Maelle.
Yellow Harvest

Head down the path east from the Harvester’s Hollow expedition flag. You should soon spot the corpse of Nevron gutted with a lamp. From here, turn right to find the cave entrance and the mime inside.
Battle Loot: Braid haircut for Maelle.
The Continent

On the island shown above in the Continent, you will find two mimes holding hands in a field.
Battle Loot: Voluminous haircut for Sciel and Lune.
Flying Manor

From the Central Plaza expedition flag, go north and step into the elevator. Proceed as the path leads and climb down the zipline at the end of it. From here, turn right and climb up another zipline to find the mime.
Battle Loot: Clea Haircut for Maelle.
Sunless Cliffs

From the entrance of the region, head east until you reach a narrow cave entrance. Navigate through the cave, and you will find a portal on the other side that leads to the mime. This is the hardest mime in the game, and you can only access one character during the encounter. We recommend fighting the mime in New Game+ or at least when you are level 90 and above.
Battle Loot: The One Picato.
