Legendary video game designer Jeff Minter is getting his own playable documentary, dubbed Llamasoft: The Jeff Pinter Story. The developer, Digital Eclipse, showcased its next interactive documentary project on YouTube.
The team revealed the playable Jeff Minter documentary will utilize a number of interactive multimedia elements to shine a light on the journey of Minter. It is supposed to cover highlights from his early works to the release of his most notable work, Tempest 2000 for Atari Jaguar.
This documentary will be the second docu-game in Digital Eclipse’s famed Gold Master Series. LLamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story is filled with new video interviews, vintage photographs, Minter’s select game titles, and design documents.
To narrate the experience, Digital Eclipse will be presenting Minter’s life story in a chronological manner. Viewers/players will be able to navigate his journey to become a zany and whimsical game designer who went on to become a pivotal figure in the British video game industry.
Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story will also contain over 42 games designed by Minter, including an unreleased demo game, The Attack of Mutant Camels 4, created for the Konix Multisystem. Also included is the Gridmaster Remastered, an homage by Digital Eclipse to Minter’s celebrated title.
