Motiga’s MOBA hero shooter Gigantic is poised to make a return. The revamped Gigantic: Rampage Edition will be released on April 9, 2024. Gearbox Publishing has also announced a closed beta for the game via Steam that begins on February 22.
Gearbox Publishing has announced the revival of Gigantic. The 2017 live service game is set to return in a premium and definitive form. Unlike the original game, Rampage Edition will not adapt a live service model. It will be a paid game, priced at $19.99, and players won’t have to spend additional money to unlock in-game content.
Gigantic: Rampage Edition will feature team-based multiplayer gameplay, similar to the original title. However, the new game will have zero microtransactions, enabling players to unlock all in-game content, such as new loadouts and character skins, through gameplay and by spending in-game currency.
While this new version adapts the 5v5 MOBA model of the original Gigantic game, it will also offer lots of new features. These include crossplay support, new quality of life improvements, new maps (Picaro Bay and Heaven’s Ward), new heroes (Roland and Kajir), new game modes (Rush and Classic Rush), and a new ranked system. The developer has also stated that additional content will be released after the game launches.
Gigantic: Rampage Edition launches for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC on April 9, 2024.
