Mere hours after you start playing Last Epoch, you’ll be overwhelmed with just how many items the game has to offer. However, as your inventory starts filling up, you might have some trouble finding the right items quickly.
This might cause problems, especially in battles, if you can’t find the right offensive and defensive items right away. The solution? Loot filters!
What Is Loot Filter In Last Epoch?
Loot Filters in Last Epoch are used to organise and categorise your inventory. As you progress in this massive RPG, you will start collecting tons of loot. While some of it will be extremely useful, some items may not be helpful. You will need your inventory clean and organised so you can pull out and use desired items without missing a beat. Loot filters help you do just that!
How To Create Loot Filters In Last Epoch
- Hit Shift+F to open your loot filter UI in Last Epoch.
- Alternatively, you can access this UI through Escape > Settings > Interface.
- Press the ‘+‘ button to create a new loot filter. You can find this button next to the drop-down menu.
- You will be asked if you want to make a new rule or simply import one. Select Add Rule.
- A new window will open. It will ask you to dictate the parameter of the new rule.
- You can choose between Show/ Hide/ Recolor specific looted items.
Let’s look at all of the parameters in detail:
- Hide Rule: This rule allows you to hide certain items. When you select Hide, the game will ask which items you want to hide. Select the type of items you don’t want to see right on the top of your inventory. These include anything. You can even select a specific range, so items that have a level below or after that range will not be visible to you.
- Show Rule: This works similar to hide but prioritizes showing you the selected type of items. You can set a rule that will let you only see the highest-level items for those that have varying levels. Alternatively, it can also let you prioritize offensive or defensive items so you can see them first.
- Recolor Rule: This rule changes the color of selected items, pooling all of them together in one class. You can select one color for offensive items, one for defensive, one for magic items, one for items with higher affixes, and so on. This will be handy when you have to quickly select an item in the heat of combat and generally make your gameplay faster.
You can create rules based on following attributes:
- Affix
- Class Requirement
- Character
- Level
- Rarity
- Item Type
How To Import A Loot Filter In Last Epoch
When starting your Last Epoch journey, creating new loot filters might feel like an overwhelming process. Do not fret, as you can also import filters created by other players to save time and effort.
For example, a user named Heavy has created a template of essential loot filters for each baseline character and class on the Last Epoch forum. You can follow this link to access his collection and get started.
You can browse through their catalog and select the ones that suit your need. Once you start getting proficient in the game and start acquiring mountains of loot, you will know which ones you want to prioritise and create your own filters accordingly.
Here’s how you can import loot filters in Last Epoch:
- Press Shift+F to open loot filter UI.
- Press ‘+‘ button to create a new filter.
- Select ‘Open Filter Folder‘.
- Drop your preferred loot filter templates (in .XML format) in this folders.
Alternatively, you can also simply access a loot filter that you like online (with Last Epoch forum being the best place to find new and interesting ones) and add it to your clipboard using Control+C. Then you just have to paste (Control+V) this in the game when you create a new rule.
