If you’re looking to tease out every secret in Nexon’s The First Berserker: Khazan, you will want to meet with Daijin, a secret NPC vendor with a lot of unique items in his inventory. Getting to him can be a little tricky, however, as you will need to talk to a couple of other NPCs and select the right options to unlock Daijin and the Jar Enthusiasts side quest in the game. Here’s how to go about doing this.
How to Find Danjin And Begin The “Jar Enthusiasts” Quest
You will need to progress your adventure until you complete the “First Act of Revenge” main mission, and defeat Volbaino. After that harrowing encounter, return to The Crevice and speak to Duimuk, who will inform you about Danjin wishing to have a word with you.
From there, follow these steps to find Danjin:
- Choose Bonus Mission in your conversation with Duimuk to unlock access to the Cradle of Jars, where Danjin can be found for the first time.
- Next, choose Jar Enthusiasts to unlock the mission at Phraugh Village.
- Get to the portal for Phraugh Village, where you will find the Cradle of Jars as a location Khazan can now travel to. It’s in the Netherworld Realm of the Crevice, in case you are having trouble locating it.
At the Cradle of Jars, you begin your search in a tunnel, with a ladder leading up to the Jar Observatory behind you. Climb it, activate the nearby portal, and look around to find Danjin waiting for you. Speaking to him begins the Jar Enthusiasts quest, where Khazan is tasked with finding six Jarlings around the level, unlocking Danjin as a vendor upon completion.
Remember to look for Jarlings inside jars that are scattered across the level. The Coward’s Lantern from Danjin’s inventory can be very useful in this location if you have the gold for it, as it allows you to see the invisible phantoms that like to sneak up on you and perform a grab attack that can cause quite a lot of damage.
If the Coward’s Lantern is out of your reach at the moment, pay attention to footsteps on the ground that indicate the presence of a phantom. Returning to Danjin after collecting six jarlings in the level will cause him to move to The Crevice, where he can then be found in The Realm of the Living.
It’s a good idea to revisit previously completed levels to find more Jarlings for Danjin and unlock more items for purchase in his inventory. There are a total of 44 Jarlings in The First Berserker Khazan, and collecting them all unlocks the Jar Enthusiast trophy. You do not need to play each mission entirely when looking for Jarlings, as finding them and returning to The Crevice still counts toward your overall progress.
Who is Danjin in The First Berserker Khazan?
You first hear of Danjin in The Crevice when speaking to Duimuk, another vendor, who describes him as a strange fellow who wears a jar on his head and carries a rose in his mouth. He is seemingly obsessed with collecting Jarlings, little creatures that like to hide in jars, and would like to speak to Khazan about a potential team-up.
His inventory mainly includes a lot of helms that look like jars, each with its own unique effects that could be handy when taking on challenging enemies in the game, making it worthwhile for Khazan to indulge his request.
