Reverse 1999’s 1.1 update focuses on the main event Theft of the Rimet Cup where we are first introduced to Melania. She is a thief who needs our help solving some puzzles in a ten-parter mission Bio of the Great Thief. Among these puzzles, Stage 10 holds the most complicated quest called Escape Master.

Your goal in Escape Master is to trigger the door and escape the room full of guards ready to capture you. But triggering the door and avoiding all the guards might be quite a tough ordeal; so we have decided to help out. Follow our step-by-step guide to complete the Escape Master puzzle in Reverse 1999 successfully.

The Escape Master Puzzle is part of the Bio of the Great Thief event in the game and you need to finish the last stage i.e., Stage 10, to complete the event and get rewarded. You will need to first finish the other 9 quests before you reach Escape Master.

Keep in mind, that the Bio of the Great Thief event will only be available from November 9, 2023, to November 23, 2023. New events will be unlocked after that date and you will be unable to attempt this puzzle after the time duration.

The Escape Master Puzzle locks you in a room filled with four movable boxes, three pressure plates, two one-directional searchlights, and two guards. You need to move three of those boxes so that they are standing on top of the pressure plates, triggering the escape door to open.

You will find an alertness meter on the left side of your screen which increases by 10 every time a guard spots you or you accidentally appear in their line of sight. To prevent getting spotted, there will be a fan in-between the two guards which sprays a mist when stepped on, that lasts a while.

This mist creates a distraction and prevents the guards from spotting you even if you appear right in front of them. The mist covers 9 surrounding tiles including the fan.

Here are the steps you need to follow to escape:

  • First, push the bottom box and cover the first searchlight completely, leaving no space in between.
  • Then, you need to take the top box and push it all the way right in front of the top pressure plate. But be careful not to get spotted by the guards, and avoid their lights by memorizing the clockwise pattern in which they move.
  • Push the box towards the bottom pressure plate and immediately trigger the fan’s mist so that you don’t get caught by the guards.
  • Now, move the box to the right side of the bottom pressure plate, bring the box covering the second light, and move it to the right of the middle pressure plate.
  • Push the leftmost box to cover the second light beam and then push the boxes to cover the top and bottom pressure plates.
  • Finally, push the box covering the second light to the middle pressure plate and then find the escape door opening.
  • Escape through the door while the mist is still covering the guards’ vision and complete the puzzle successfully.

Make sure you don’t get spotted even once so that you get the perfect score in this puzzle. Once you are done with the Escape Master, you can go to the event banner and see what rewards are waiting for you.

If you’re looking for more banners in store in Reverse 1999 1.1 update, check out our Banners guide, or take a look at our All Puzzle Answers guide if you’re struggling with other puzzles in the game.
