You’ll find a lot of cool crafting components in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but not all of them will be relevant to your needs. There are a few particular items, however, that you’ll definitely want to acquire. One such item is the Newt Liqueur.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 – How to Get Newt Liqueur
The Newt Liquer is a quest item. You need to acquire three of the item to give to Lamond and complete his side quest, The Sotted Sage. Doing so allows you to acquire the Grandmaster’s Path item, which teaches Rearmament to warfarers. However, the drink Lamond wants is quite rare. To get Newt Liquer in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can craft it, purchase it, or find it.

Craft and Forge the Newt Liquer
One of my favorite ways to acquire the Newt Liquer is to craft it. The components required are the Fruit Wine and a Saurian Tail. You’ll find the latter by defeating a lot of lizards and hacking them apart. They tend to live in caves near water sources. They are a fairly common mob throughout Vermund.

The Fruit Wine is considerably less common. You acquire it very rarely when completing some quests, such as the A Place to Call Home quest that Brant supplies near the start of the game. I have seen pawns with the wine listed as a reward for completing their quests, as well. By the point in the game when I needed the wine, I had two bottles on hand.
If you have the two components to make even a single bottle of the liquer, you’re most of the way to your goal. Simply visit Ibrahim in Checkpoint Rest Town, which you can reach by Oxcart from Bakbattahl. He creates perfect forgeries of the Fruit Wine for 1600 G, or the Saurian Tail for 600 G. He also duplicates the Newt Liquer itself for 6000 G.

Purchase the Newt Liquer from Higg’s Tavern Stand
Along the north edge of Bakbattahl, not far from where you can buy a house, there is a location called Higg’s Tavern Stand. Before you approach the stand, make sure your character is either a beastren, or that you have the Beastren Mask equipped.
When you arrive in the vicinity of the stand, look for a pen with a pile of hay, to the right of the building’s entrance. Just to the right from the pen, find bagged sacks of feed. Pick up a stack of sacks and carry it left a few steps. Drop it on the pile of hay that’s already in the pen. A beastren named Karnel demands to know what you’re doing, and a scene follows. When that brief scene concludes, you appear in an upstairs room with Ezekiel. He offers to let you purchase the Newt Liquer for 5000 G per bottle. He has a stock of three. Your total cost to buy them all is 15000 G.

Find the Newt Liquer at the Windwalker’s Home
You must travel southwest from Bakbattahl to reach the Windwalker’s Home. The above screenshot shows your destination on the world map, indicated as “Cliodhna.” The journey will be an arduous one, so you should only attempt it when you are well prepared.
First, make your way to and through the labyrinthine Drabnir’s Grotto, which you enter from the west end. When you emerge from the grotto and resume your journey east, you meet Gautstafr. He wants you to find him some wildflowers. This task counts as the very easy first step of the important Put a Spring in Thy Step side quest. You may already have suitable plants in your inventory. If you don’t, there are plenty of flowers and herbs in the immediate area that you can grab to help complete the quest.

The grateful Gautstafr next leads you toward his house. Just past a campfire site, he stops in the path and looks off to the left. Follow that trail as it descends in that direction. Veer left when you can and descend some stone steps carved into the hillside. Then follow the rock piles across shallow tidewater to reach another series of steps. Climb them to reach your destination at last. A scene with Cliodhna follows. Gautstafr heads inside for your reward. Follow him into the building and look on the corner of the interior table for a bottle of Newt Liquor.
I recommend that you create three bottles of Newt Liquer at the earliest convenient opportunity. Then carry it with you when you first head for the Windwalkers Home. You’ll meet Lamond to the east, at the Volcanic Island Camp. Rather than leaving the Windwalker with his wife, agree to escort him to the hot springs. That way, you get additional rewards for your trouble. When finally you meet Lamond, you’ll be able to hand the drinks over immediately without needing to backtrack. Give him one drink at the first opportunity, and then start a new conversation and give him two more bottles to secure your reward.
