According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Deadpool 3 has officially started filming today. The much-anticipated instalment stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Ever since its announcement in September 2022, Marvel fans have been waiting for the next appearance of the foul-mouthed action hero for hire, Deadpool. In a social media post from September 2022, Ryan Reynolds broke the silence about the upcoming feature film and announced that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.
The filming is rumored to have begun in London, and other details about possible cast members and plotlines have been tightly barred from public in true MCU fashion. Deadpool 3 is expected to release in November 2024, as part of MCU’s Phase 6.

The dark, comic, and gun-slinging mercenary has amassed a huge fan following, an unusual sighting for a Marvel superhero that isn’t in the main MCU cannon. Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018) were amongst the most successful R-rated movies ever made, losing the top spot only to Todd Philip’s Joker (2019). Deadpool’s quick wit, charming reportarrie with allies and villains, and over-the-top obscene action is the franchise’s shot to fame.
Jackman had reported that he wouldn’t be playing his iconic character, Wolverine, after 2017’s Logan. However, fans were pleasantly surprised to find that he would once again be taking the role of the popular Adamantium claw-bearing rouge. Netizens are already speculating what the plot of the next film would be – continuation of the Deadpool franchise in same timeline, Marvel’s new motif of Multiversal madness, or Logan-style alternate storyline for the merc.
Talking about the cast of Deadpool 3, stalwart actors associated with Marvel have spread a lot of information, or misinformation, as always, keeping up with Marvel’s superb marketing strategy. There are rumors about Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen reprising their roles as Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto), respectively. There are also some speculations that Olivia Munn might be involved in the series, reprising her role as Psylocke that she portrayed in X-Men: Apocalypse.
