Battlefield 6 Beta: 5 Key Improvements We Would Like to See in Full Launch

The Battlefield 6 Beta became playable on August 7, 2025, and it’s brilliant in every respect, with a destructible environment, fun gunplay, and above all, the Battlefield feeling. However, no game is perfect, and since it’s the Beta, there are a few areas that we will need a little tweaking to make it feel even better.

These changes aren’t in any specific order of importance, as all of them will need equal attention from the developers. Additionally, it’s important to clarify that while these are the improvements we feel are necessary, players can have their own views on what they feel needs work for this game.

Battlefield 6 Maps Need to be Bigger

The Battlefield 6 Beta presents a couple of maps, but they feel quite small when compared to the likes of Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4. While the maps don’t need to be barren wastelands like 2042, the current Battlefield 6 maps don’t allow as much playing room for vehicles.

In most cases, the tanks in Battlefield 6 will get stuck between buildings or rocks, and the choppers and jets don’t have much to play with. The only purpose these big maps serve right now is that they are a sniper heaven. However, bigger maps will allow vehicles to do a lot of talking and change the course of fights in a number of scenarios.

Additionally, when you’re playing Conquest Battlefield 6, there are 64 players on the map. Due to the smaller size of the maps, the matches often feel too congested. As a result, most of your deaths will come from players behind you or players hiding inside buildings, rather than in front of you. If the maps are bigger, players won’t be able to cover distances so easily and will also be forced to stop camping, which will help create face-to-face combat scenarios.

Vehicle Control Needs to Improve in Battlefield 6

Poor vehicle control is something that has been a problem in past Battlefield games as well, but it’s time for Battlefield Studios and EA to address this issue in Battlefield 6. Tanks are fine as they are grounded, even though the map size makes it difficult to navigate them.

The problem arises when you try to fly Choppers in Battlefield 6, as they do not feel good in terms of controls. In most cases, players are struggling to get the Choppers under their control, let alone try to use them to take down the enemy. If the developers can tune the Choppers’ handling, it will make the game even more fun. This is because flying around with a Chopper and gunning down enemies is one of the most fun aspects of Battlefield 6.

Shotguns Need to be Nerfed in Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 Beta has been out for only a day, but Shotguns are currently dominating the public lobbies. You can pretty much one-shot anyone with a Shotgun within 25 meters, and that is not very fun to deal with in the game. You may be using an SMG and moving in to take control of a point. However, someone rushing in with a Shotgun leaves no counterplay. Once you add attachments to your Shotgun, it becomes even more lethal.

The truth is that the Shotgun is fun in Battlefield 6, as you can see players flying away when you shoot someone in close range. However, if they aren’t nerfed, the lobbies will be filled with players reverting to Shotguns when they can’t pick up kills. This will create a toxic environment that will be harmful to the game in the long run. Playing rushing with Shotguns never works in favor of the longevity of a game, and Battlefield Studios needs to fix it.

Sniper Glint Needs to be Reduced in Battlefield 6

Sniper Glint is a mechanic where if you aim at someone with a Sniper Rifle in Battlefield 6, the player on the opposite side can see it shine brightly. The problem is that the shine is too big in this game, and it needs to be nerfed a bit. This nerf will benefit not just the one who is using the Sniper Rifle, but also the player who is being targeted.

This is because, if your Sniper Glint is too big in Battlefield 6, it is an alarm for the entire opposition that there is a Sniper on the map. Since the maps aren’t too big, it won’t take time for the players to narrow down the Snipers and take them down. Additionally, the massive Sniper Glint makes it hard to see the player who is using the Sniper. This makes it difficult to shoot back, which reduces counterplay for the player who is being targeted.

Sweet Spot From Sniper Rifles Need to be Removed in Battlefield 6

Sweet Spot was a mechanic that was first introduced in Battlefield 1 and is now back once again in Battlefield 6. The way this mechanic works is that, if you’re within a certain range of Sniper Rifles, a shot on the chest will lead to a one-shot kill. Ideally, Sniper Rifles are supposed to lead to a one-shot kill only if you hit the head. However, with Sweet Spot, you can play Snipers aggressively and one-shot people by shooting their chest.

This mechanic needs to be removed from Battlefield 6, since it massively lowers the skill barrier required to play a Sniper Rifle. While playing with a Sniper Rifle might make you feel like Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) from American Sniper, that weapon was always meant for those players who are crack shots. You shouldn’t be rewarded for missing your headshots in Battlefield 6.
