Fast Travel in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a feature that lets you cross different areas very quickly. It doesn’t mean you can teleport between checkpoints. However, with fast travel, the world feels more interconnected as you use the underground tunnels to make your way across Pharloom.
Unlike the original Hollow Knight, in Silksong, you will have to go through a few hoops before you can unlock the Fast Travel feature. It’s not too difficult, but if you’re new to this franchise and haven’t played the first game, it will take you a while. However, the investment is worth it as it will save you a lot of time as you unlock more areas in the game.
How Can I Unlock Fast Travel In Hollow Knight: Silksong

You’ll have to defeat the Bell Beast to unlock fast travel. This is because the beast itself becomes your ride after you have defeated it. However, before you can even unlock the fight, you’ll need to acquire a very important skill.
As you start your Silksong journey, you will enter an area called Moss Grotto. This opening area has the Moss Mother as the tutorial boss. This one is pretty easy, and lets you warm up for the upcoming difficult paths ahead.
Once you’re done with Moss Grotto and have found the first town of the game, Bone Bottom, you’ll then enter an area called The Marrow. This is where your journey actually begins as you unlock a lot of things from The Marrow and its surrounding areas. Your first objective will be to explore The Marrow a bit, and you’ll eventually come across an NPC called Shakra.
Shakra is an important NPC, not just because she is your primary source to unlock Maps, Quill, and Compass, but she is also a landmark. After you meet Shakra and proceed for a little bit, you’ll notice a section that allows you to go up. Once you reach the top, the road will split into two different directions. The right side will lead you to the Bell Beast boss, and the left side will take you to Mosshome.
If you decide to go to the right side, you’ll notice the Bell Beast boss, but it will be constrained by Silk. You can try hitting the silk, but it won’t be of any use, since every time you break it, the Silk will grow back. Instead, take the path to Mosshome, where you’ll find an early source to farm Rosaries, the primary currency of the game. Additionally, if you explore a little bit, you’ll unlock your first skill of the game called Silkspear.
Once you have acquired Silkspear, go back to the Bell Beast boss. The Silkspear ability is pretty strong, but it also uses Silk, the item you need to heal fast in Hollow Knight: Silksong. However, you can use it to break the Silk binding the Bell Beast in one shot, and the boss fight will begin. It’s a fairly simple boss, though the moves can get a bit overwhelming in the first few tries. Once you defeat the boss, you will receive your first Silk Heart and also unlock fast travel.
Can You Fast Travel Between Benches In Hollow Knight: Silksong?

No, you cannot fast travel between Benches in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Benches are your primary save points, but you cannot fast travel between them. The only way to do that is through stations where you can call the Bell Beast, and you will be taken to the area you want.
The stations in question are all fixed, which means you cannot make them yourself. As you explore Pharloom, you’ll come across stations in certain areas that you can unlock. Once unlocked, the Bell Beast will be available for calling, and a new location will be available for you to fast travel in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
