Hollow Knight: Silksong is a very deep game, and you’ll often come across side quests that you’ll have to complete for rewards. Most of them have cryptic clues, and you’ll have to find ways to solve them as you progress through Pharloom.
One such quest requires you to collect an item called the Pilgrim Shawl. The game doesn’t tell you where to go, but it does mention you’ll need to defeat haunted Pilgrims to receive this item. The good part is that you don’t have to work too hard, and you can get them very early in the game.
How Can I Farm Pilgrim Shawl In Hollow Knight: Silksong?
Pilgrim Shawl can be farmed from an area called Mosshome in Hollow Knight: Silksong. This item is required to complete the quest Garb of the Pilgrims in the game. Once you pick up that quest, you’re asked to collect 12 Pilgrim Shawls in total. The Haunted Pilgrims mentioned in the Garb of the Pilgrim can all be found in Mosshome.
If you have grabbed the Garb of the Pilgrims quest, it means you already know how to reach Mosshome. However, if you haven’t yet, then you first need to make your way through Moss Grotto and then eventually to The Marrow. After you reach The Marrow, you can explore a bit until you come across an NPC called Shakra. This NPC is quite valuable as she will let you unlock Quills, Maps, and a Compass, which are essential for exploration.
After meeting Shakra, travel left for a bit, and you will come across Mosshome. In fact, you’ll also find a Bench in Mosshome that you can use to reset the area and continue the far. However, you must remember that you’ll first need to defeat the Bell Beast boss before the Garb of the Pilgrims quest unlocks at the Bone Bottom Town.
The Bell Beast boss is easy to find, as it is placed exactly opposite the road that leads to Mosshome. Defeating the boss also unlocks fast travel in the game.
How To Use Pilgrim Shawl In Hollow Knight: Silksong
Once you have collected 12 Pilgrim Shawls, you can then travel to the Bone Bottom town. Once you arrive at the town, interact with the quest board from where you picked up the Garb of the Pilgrims quest. Simply interacting with it will deposit all the Pilgrim Shawls and complete the quest.
It is recommended that you complete the quest, as the Garb of the Pilgrims will reward you with an item called the Rosary Necklace. Using this item will grant you 120 Rosaries, which is quite a boost this early in the game. Rosaries are your primary currency that can be used to buy essential items to assist you in exploration in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
