Cygames recently dropped an eagerly awaited major expansion for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Endless Ragnarok. This pack includes 6 new characters, game modes, quests, and an ultra rare weapon upgrade material – Hexachrome Quartz. It is a super late-game item that is quite difficult to get your hands on, even for a Granblue veteran. In this guide, I will go over the entire process of obtaining the item.
How To Get Hexachrome Quartz in Endless Ragnarok
First and foremost, you of course need to access the Endless Ragnarok DLC. To do that, you must complete The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage side quest in the base game on Proud Difficulty. Once done, you are eligible to play the new expansion.
As for Hexachrome Quartz, it is an ultra rare material that allows your weapon to be upgraded for an additional Transcendence level – all with new stats, bonuses, and damage. And for fully transcending a weapon, you also get an extra EX trait slot for your troubles. Below, I have listed the exact steps you need to take in order to obtain Hexachrome Quartz.
Step 1: Spread Chaos

You must complete the entire campaign on the newly introduced Chaos difficulties. Yes, you need to run all the bosses yet again, and on higher difficulties at that. There are three Chaos categories, each more brutal than the last: Chaos, Chaos+, Chaos++. With each Chaos level, enemies get more aggressive, hit harder, tank longer, but also give you better rewards.
Step 2: Hello, New Boss

Completing the game on Chaos++ difficulty will unlock a Rank-up trial, where you need to fight a newly introduced boss called Omnis Zegalith. He is a difficult boss to beat, so make sure you are at least around 35000-37000 PWR. He won’t immediately drop Hexachrome Quartz, but winning this fight unlocks the extra Transcendence level slot for your weapons.
Step 3: Defiance of Infinity

Once you complete the quest “The Notforgotten Sky” on Chaos++, you can check the quest counter, where you will see a new section called Defy Infinity. In here, there are four more battles you need to fight. Each of these are steroid-infused versions of some of the bosses you encountered up till now, with a tight 15 minute window to beat them.
Step 4: Hexachrome Quartz, My Precious

After the fourth Defy Infinity fight, there is still one last battle you need to take up. The “On The Threshold of Provenance” quest unlocks in Defy Infinity as the final barrier between you and Hexachrome Quartz. It is a rematch with the ol’ Omnis Zegalith, now buffed up to an even greater power. Don’t punch your monitor if you are still replaying this fight for the 12th time, it is straight up brutal.
When you are done questioning your life choices and finally get a win, the elusive Hexachrome Quartz (along with other stuff) will finally be yours for that sweet, bonus Transcendence.
Note: As of this writing, it is reported that only Terminus weapons can be levelled up with the additional Transcendence level, while other weapons remain untested.
