The highly anticipated Hidden Mountain expansion is finally here for Where Winds Meet, bringing AAA quality visual updates, weapons, mechanical puzzles, and two brand new bosses. Each boss has a lore of its own, with different move sets and encounter locations. Even though the latest additions, these bosses are fairly straightforward to beat, but only if you know how to deal with them. In this guide, I will go over one of the bosses called The Ironheart Centipede.
Finding Ironheart Centipede in Where Winds Meet 2.0

In order to get to the Ironheart Centipede, you first need to unlock the Hidden Mountain Expansion. To do this, you must complete the quest “Yingying’s Invitation” and the questline that follows after. The entire questline isn’t complicated much, but can feel a bit dragged out. In any case, the end of this questline unlocks the Hidden Mountain Expansion, after which you are eligible to explore and fight in the new region.

As for Ironheart Centipede’s location, you will find on top of Precipice Ridge. From the location shown above, take the stairs and keep going ahead to the only way forward until you reach Wang Qiashou, who warns you about the road ahead. Use the zipline beside as an elevator, and continue on the path. You will again need to climb up a quite number of stairs. Look out for an eavesdrop opportunity prompt on Lu Ya and Luo Fei – this signals you are in the right direction.

Keep going up, but carefully this time since this point onward, there are monkeys who apparently like to throw rocks at you during your hike. Eventually, you will reach the top of the mountain with several non-rock throwing monkeys hanging about. Interact with the Boundary Stone behind them to unlock the Sky Gazing Pavilion teleport. Make sure to not forget this to avoid redoing the entire climb in case something goes wrong. Interact with the Strange Mechanical Cauldron nearby, and the character is teleported into the boss room.
How To Defeat Ironheart Centipede in Where Winds Meet 2.0
The first thing to do as you enter the boss room is interacting with the Hero’s Tomb right by the entrance. This ensures that you respawn right there if the fight goes south.
Ironheart Centipede has only a few moves in his arsenal:
- 4x Forward Slash Combo: This attack can easily be deflected, dodged, or parried.
- Forward Head Slam: Deals ton of damage, but fairly easily to dodge – has a wind up animation.
- Venomous Spit: Spits venom in the player’s direction in two circles

The Forward Head Slam attack is pretty punishable, since the boss remains in the same position for a second or two after performing the attack, which can be used to remove its mechanical arms. Depleting health to certain thresholds will trigger a quick cutscene, showing the player cutting of its body parts. This puts it in a “stunned” phase, during which it won’t dodge, move, or attack. Take this opportunity to attack him to your heart’s content.
Only beware of his poison infused attacks – his blades glow red during them, so you must either parry perfectly, or completely dodge. If not, the poison effect of multiples stacks will quickly take you down, even if the fight is not as complicated.
