How to Get All Eight Blades in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
I found the exploration part in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy quite impressive, as the moment-to-moment gameplay felt quite seamless, and the top-notch graphics made me want to explore each and every corner in the world.
Chapters 1 and 2: Rusty Sword and Falchion

The Rusty Sword and Falchion are the first two Blades that you will unlock in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which pretty much take care of themselves. The Rusty Sword is unlocked automatically right when you start the game. You don’t have to search for this item manually, as it is given to you in one of the opening cutscenes. As a basic weapon that you unlock at the beginning of the game, it doesn’t have any special abilities.

You unlock the Falchion in Chapter 2: Felons, under the sub-chapter The Carnival. This weapon is unlocked when your character follows pieces of cloth, which leads to a church. When you interact with a barrel near a boat, the game rewards you with the item automatically.
The Falchion offers the Momentum Strike ability, which deals bonus damage after a critical strike. This is also where you get the Grapnel climbing tool, as well as some tidbits about the story that is about to unfold.
If you purchase the Heritage DLC pack, you also get a ninth weapon called the Hero’s Blade, which is essentially a reskin of Falchion, with the same ability.
Chapter 4: Kopis

In Chapter 4, under the sub-chapter of Puzzles and Traps, you can get your hands on the Kopis Blade. You must push through the spike trap sequence in this chapter, where Leni, with the help of a mirror, reveals your path ahead. Right after it, the next section has you clearing an area of falling spikes.

After that, squeeze through the narrow gap beyond the area and interact with a pedestal, which leads to a hidden tomb. If you head down, you can spot a chest inside. Open it to claim the Kopis. This weapon is an exceptional pick that comes with the special ability of Stagger Blow, allowing you to inflict a powerful blow on the last combo, which deals stun damage.
Chapter 5: Greek Sword

Chapter 5 is where Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy starts to throw tough puzzles at you. While these can be quite overwhelming at first, it becomes easy when you observe the environment closely. In the sub-chapter of The Four Symbols, you will find yourself in a room with four pedestals and a locked gate in front of you. Each of the exits will be marked by a symbol.
- Go for the exit marked with an “O” that is crossed by three lines.
- Cross that bridge, go to the left, and drop down to fight the enemies below.
- Ignore the large green gate and take the opposite path instead. This will lead you to an abandoned camp which is built around a bull pillar.
- Climb the ruins inside to reach a higher platform with four glowing floor plates.

Make sure to stand on the plate that is closest to the Resonance Point before continuing. From that location, use the sphere to project three colored lights. Keep rotating them until they align with the gems on the bull pillar. Once you get the alignment right, you will see an axe symbol on the floor opening up and leading to a hidden crypt. This is where you get the Blade inside a chest.
The Spinning Slash is the special ability for this one, where Sophia no longer uses her dagger. Critical strikes are also replaced with sweeping spins, which deal damage to all nearby enemies.
Chapter 6: Sica

The Architect’s sub-chapter in Chapter 6 of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy showcases a petrified figure standing at a cliff’s edge in its opening cutscene. After the cutscene ends, pass through the first gate to your right and head to the dark corridor. Inside, you can find a small tunnel on your left side, which leads to a room with another bull pillar and a set of light-up platforms.

Jump onto the first lit platform on your left and then utilize the sphere to match the three colors. The green will go below the pillar, blue below the platform you are standing on, and the red will be toward the pillar in the back right of the room that reflects off a mirror nearby. Solving this puzzle will open the tomb ahead, and you can find Sica inside a chest.
With Sica, you can take advantage of the Focus Rush special ability. If you kill an enemy with the weapon, it replenishes the Focus Gauge.
Chapter 7: Khopesh

Getting the Khopesh Blade is a little bit direct in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. After you move through a dark underground in the sub-chapter of “The Whole Damn Army”, you will end up in a large open area.

Head left from the exit, and you will find one more bull pillar. Use the sphere to open it, and then grab the blade from the chest inside. Khopesh offers the Deep Bleed ability to Sophia, letting her inflict some serious damage to her enemies over time with her last-hit combo.
Chapter 9: Broken Spear

In the “Hunted” chapter of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, you will encounter a man who is sprinting towards you right before he is grabbed by a monster and eaten. Turn left and follow the leftmost path right after this event. Then, climb a nearby ledge.

This one leads to yet another bull pillar, and heading downstairs into the chamber below is where you can find the chest where the Broken Spear lies. This spear comes with the ability of Sprint Assault, which pierces enemy shields with the help of a spring attack.
Chapter 10: Xiphos

You can find the final Blade in the “In the Plunderer’s Wake” sub-chapter of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Make your way to the right corner of the area right after the beginning of the chapter. You can find a cave entrance there.

- Push through that cave until you reach a spot where you can grapple hook and pull yourself upward.
- At the top of the cave, you will find one more bull statue. Destroy the vases that are scattered nearby. This reveals a hidden blue gem underneath.
- Use the pedestal in front of the statue, which will activate the light platforms. Then step onto the one in the right corner.
- Once that is done, align the lights as follows: red on the left, green in the middle, and blue on the right, using the gem you uncovered earlier in the area.

Once you solve this puzzle, you will see a crypt opening right in front of the pedestal. Once you drop down and open the chest, you will get the Xiphos Blade in the game. This Blade carries the special ability of Parry Break, which inflicts stun damage while parrying. However, when I was using this blade, I found that Sophia could no longer do the regular block action.
That is all the locations of the Blades in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I recommend trying out all the blades throughout your playthrough to see which fits your combat style, and not stashing them away immediately once you find them.
