In RPGs, it’s very typical to encounter locked gates, walls, treasures, and many more secrets while exploring the world. Minecraft Dungeon 2 is no different, as it features countless unique items such as Secret Talismans that are kept away from the direct path. The game always provides a way for the player to obtain an item to unlock and reap the rewards. When you are exploring the area near Howling Woods, you will come across a locked blue gate with an interactive removable wall on both sides of the gate.
The sight of a locked gate is enough to fire up ideas in the head about where to look for this key and wonder about the things that await behind the gate. The key is technically right next to the gate, but unfortunately, it’s on the other side of the wall. In this guide, I will help you locate the key for the blue gate in Howling Woods in Minecraft Dungeon 2.
How To Unlock the Howling Woods Blue Gate
The key for the blue gate can only be recovered during the Corruption in the Woods questline. Once the key is obtained, you can easily access the blue gate from its left side and open it. At the northwest of Howling Woods lies a locked blue gate, as shown by the map point in the image above. Both sides of the gate have a removable wall that can be moved upon interaction. Once you make it to the area with the blue gate, you will find out that only the wall on the right can be moved; to remove the wall on the left, you must interact with it from the other side. The only way you can get to the other side of the wall on the left is by taking the Corruption in the Wood quest.
Note: The blue gate is not part of the Corruption in the Woods questline, but the area that houses the key can only be visited during the questline.
- First, interact with the wall on the right side of the blue gate, and the path here will lead you to the town southwest of Howling Woods, called Little Howl.
- Here, you will find that the door leading to the deeper region of Howling Woods Sadly, the route to the Howling Woods is blocked; the villager outside the locked gate will lift the wall during the Corruption in the Woods quest. Follow my guide for the Corruption in the Woods quest, and soon you will see the villager lifting the gate to Howling Woods for us.
- Continue with the quest, and soon you will find yourself inside the Spider Cave rescuing the trapped foragers. After rescuing them from the enemies, leave the cave via the exit. Near the Spider Cave’s exit, on the right, you will find the Blue Key on the rocks (Highlighted in the red circle in the image). Coincidentally, it’s next to the left removal wall for the blue gate.
Interact with the wall to move it out of the way to create a shortcut to the previous area. Now insert the blue key into the blue gate to open it and explore the region inside.
